I stand corrected indeed, I guess you learn something new every day (which should be the slogan for this site!). Just read up on it and discovered that his ancestors were from Dutch soil, hence the 'van' :)
Nice quiz - I enjoyed the challenge! I'd also suggest allowing Georg for Handel, though I see you've said above why you think not. How about allowing Peter and Ilich for Tchaikovsky's first names? I see those spellings elsewhere often. (The middle name is written Ильи́ч in Russian, which transliterates as Ilich, so I'm not sure why many commentators add the "y" in there).
Cool quiz. Surprised to see so many more obscure composers, and yet no Berlin, Copland or Gershwin. Or Rachmaninoff Khachaturian and Rimsky-Korsakov. I got 31/74.
Thanks! I've actually added a few of your good suggestions. Gershwin and Rachmaninoff I've left off because they share their first name with others that are already in the quiz.
Confused Brent and Irving Berlin... *facepalm* If you're wondering who Brent Berlin is, search up "Kay and Berlin" and you'll find some interesting stuff.
Thanks for creating it!
