I agree with you on kitchen appliance, as I went through toaster, blender, and mixer before I gave up and decided it probably wasn't "food processor". 😜 I think we think of built-in appliances like refrigerators, ovens, stoves, trash compactors, and dishwashers as *major* appliances as opposed to just appliances, so I respectfully suggest a change to "Major kitchen appliance". I don't think that will automatically make it a dead giveaway, as people will undoubtedly guess "fridge" and "stove" before hitting on the right answer. Hopefully that'll bring it up to above 50%. // But I disagree with you totally on EEL, as eels in particular are known for being particularly slippery: there is even a saying, that someone is "as slippery as an eel". The clue is fine as is, as 69% of people are getting it.
You are correct that "sung" is the past tense form of "sing", but "sang" is a perfectly acceptable alternative for the past indicative and the imperfect subjunctive. (Source: http://www.verbix.com/webverbix/English/sing.html) ~~ Despite kiwirage's ribbing, the dictionary is indeed a book, and the first word I suggest you look up is "conjugate". Or, you could just use Google!
Of course I thought of the appliances that are moveable and Fish that aren't snake looking.
Has anybody aced this quiz?
I humbly bow.
