The two minute timer wasn't supposed to reduce it to a typing test; it's just there to provide a fun beat-the-clock challenge given that this is a relatively easier version of the other quizzes in this category: Countries by First and Last Letter) and Countries by Last Two Letters. The average score for this quiz is currently several points higher than these other two variants.
Time seems reasonable to me, I could ve used more and gotten the last two/three, but I think a quiz is timed well when you just miss out on the last two (while not rushing)
The three out of four times I've completed the quiz (in the course of 22 months), I've done it in 1:19, 1:21 and 1:19 again. I don't think there's any other quiz where I've been this consistent.
Loved it. The two I struggled most with were the consonant-vowel-vowel ones - I guess it changes the expected pronunciation when saying the first two letters out loud
I can see from my stats I've taken this quiz 3 times, though I don't remember the first 2 times, and apparently keep missing the same 3 answers: Ecuador, Luxembourg, and Mexico.
those were the same 3 I nearly missed this time! But finally managed to get 100% with 2 seconds to spare. Had to pause to think about LU for a while. And only got ME after going through the whole alphabet in my head, MEA, MEB, MEC... so that took 30 seconds before I got to MEX.
I can't believe I missed Mexico! And by missed it, what I really mean is I can't believe I remembered it at the very last second and was one letter short of actually getting it. I had "Mexic" typed out when I ran out of time.
Once non countries get into your head it is hard to get m out! And from the starts all sorts of things went to my mind. States, cities, regions etc. Like crete hawaii memphis...
Funny how the three I missed were also the lowest scorers, really didnt expect that ! Ok voor trinidad it is understandable.
I'm sure only the common short form of the countries is meant. Otherwise, you could name a lot of other countries, like the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States...
As an American, my brain kept reading them as state abbreviations instead of country names. Once my brain said "Maine!" it was very hard to convince it that that wasn't the right answer XD
Even though Holland is frequently used - albeit informally - for the entire country, it is only a region of the Netherlands. Unfortunately, that alternative name is not accepted in Jetpunk country quizzes.
(aside from historical arguments) holland is only a part of the netherlands. if holland would be allowed for netherlands, michigan would be allowed for the usa
If you like this, I have a similar type of quiz for the 1000 most common english words. try it here https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/1334337/words-with-unique-first-2-letters
Perhaps add a caveat for countries that can start with "The"? I understand that "The" Gambia and "The" Netherlands are typically treated as not having the word "The" for these kinds of quizzes, but it's still somewhat confusing.

Edit:I got them all with one minute left
