I would say that "Lawyer Dove Deaf Lies" is my favorite Irish novel.

I read "zeal comb missed", with a french accent hahaha. (dont think any of the others came across as a specific accent to me, speech impediment maybe, haha)

Likewise, I've real all here except that one and Dangerous Liasons (and Maltese Falcon, but I've seen that movie...), but those 2 I hadn't heard of.

The Alchemist is a fantastic read - in fact everything I've read by Paulo Coelho reveals a guy with one amazing mind.

It was one of those books that were "in" for a while, like eat pray love, or the celestine prophecy (though that may have been only here and not world wide). you would hear other people talk about it and have you read it yet. That doesnt happen with too many books. only other I can really think about is davinci code.

(And not meaning in conversation about literature, when people discuss good books, but just as an everyday comments, like you really must try this new capuchno, or better comparison I guess, movies that are being played in the cinema)Things that became a sort of hype (and would make people that usually dont read want to see what all the fuss is about, if everybody keeps mentioning it)

Would love to have more time. I need to read them aloud several times to get any idea of what they might sound like, pretty sure I could've gotten a couple more if time.

Interesting that this quiz has a rating of only 2 stars. Personally, I think it's a great quiz! But I've noticed that ratings tend to correlate inversely with difficulty. Which is why we are making an effort to have more short, easy quizzes on the site.

Yeah, I've suspected for a while that if people find a quiz difficult or don't do well on it, they 'take revenge' by giving it a low rating. And of course everyone enjoys different kinds of quizzes. But I hope the element of fun in these fractured quizzes comes across. I think when you wrote the comment, the rating was 2.08; it's now 2.57, so it's improving - go, little quiz, go!

Personally, I got 100% on the first try and gave it 3/5 because I thought some of the "accents" strained credulity. I've given 5/5 to quizzes I've done very poorly on; my philosophy is "it's not a bad quiz just because I'M bad AT it".

thoroughly enjoyed this. pretty much every quiz, you know the answer, or you dont. with this you should be able to get 100% with enough slurred rambling and lost ego. one of my favourites

@ayjayh If you see the thought behind the quiz it is exactly what it claims to be. Nowhere is it stated that it sound exactly alike, just that if you say it fast enough you will hear something that resembles a title. Enough to pick them out. (and even more when you look at them quietly afterwards and lay your emphasis a little different)>

It does exactly what it claims. And no it is not easy, but that is the fun, it hasnt claimed anywhere that they were obvious.

(btw as I write thise the rating is 4 ! so either it has got many upvotes since, or the rating has been reset and gotten more reasonable array of votes)(edit, 4 was rounded, actual number is 3.87)

On a more serious note, I think the lower rating is likely due to the lack of adequate time to get a good score. It IS fun to work through the more challenging quizzes, but frustrating to only get to a comparatively low portion of a quiz when time runs out.

While I've done poorly, this is not the reason why I gave it a one-star rate. I've give plenty of five stars on tests where I perform poorly.

I think the main reason of my low rating is that I like tests where I either: (1) learn things that I enjoy learning, or (2) have fun doing them. This one doesn't check any of them for me.

i usually forget to rate the quiz. My bad! I do consciously not rate quizzes with bad spelling or answers or that only the quiz-creator knows what they were thinking as they are very frustrating.

Read All Quiet On The Western Front right now. Almost 4 years later. The most direct and candid war book written.

Hitler liked it so much he had it tossed in the famous book fires and had the author's sister beheaded. They sent the executioner's bill to him in the U.S. where he had escaped.

Ha ha, yep. This was the last one I got. I got all the others and had to return to it. it was a laugh out loud moment though, because i just couldn't parse it until I'd said it out loud in many ways, with many accents and at many speeds.

Another fun quiz.

I actually got dangerous liaisons ! just couldnt spell it correctly in time.. (ended up with liaisions when timer reached 0) only others I missed were, where the wild things are and slaughterhousefive.

I literally havent read any of these though, (besides maybe davinci code, not sure, I did see the movie though. Didnt see any movie adaptations of any of the others either btw).

So, not too bad :) though it was quite tough !! harder than another quiz of this type.

In what planet is "zeal" pronounced "the-ALL"? Cause that one doesn't seem to make sense. I know the quiz doesn't pretend to give the exact sounds, but they should be close enough, and both the z=th and the syllable stress (which also changes the pronunciation of the "a") are off.

This is a great quiz. I love these kind. I know I must sound like a idiot sitting by myself saying weird phrases over and over but I do enjoy them .

I'd never give a bad rating to a quiz just cuz I suck at the topic. Spelling errors, wrong answers, maybe things like that. If I'm not interested in the quiz, I usually don't take it and if I do I certainly don't punish the person making the quiz for my lack of knowledge.
