Love this series! I've created a similar quiz that I suspect lovers of this quiz will also enjoy: http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/6734/unusual-letter-combinations

"Plaud" is a somewhat uncommon word, but I do believe it's still a word.

It is not in the Scrabble dictionary, and I think that is what Kiwi is using as reference.

Great quiz. Interesting that snorkel is quite adrift at the bottom (10% lower than the next answer up)

I got them all except -lf. My eyes saw it as -if, and I wracked my brain to think of a five-letter word ending with -if. I was proud that I finally got one--serif--and so disappointed when it didn't work.

You could remove the “a” from “abet” in the last one and “alphabet” would still be the only solution.

The "lf" ending really messed me up, because it sounds similar to an "rf" ending. I was trying "scalf" and "whalf" to no avail, and then all I could think of was the Pokemon Azelf!..

Pleased with 19, though it is extremely difficult thinking in another language (with word things like this, set patterns etc). Especially with the -kel I reverted to my own language where it is a very common ending.

The others I missed scored ( surprisingly?) high. Topaz alphabet boundary and bronze.

Funny how the highest scoring one is ahead by miles (kilometers doesn't flow well in this case ;) )

Why doesn't 'Mason' work for 'ason' ? It's in the scrabble dictionary...

Yes, but the answer must be 7 letters long. Mason is 5.
