Hello dear JetPunkers!
We won't talk about my late this time. No, more seriously, I've had some small problems for this interview, but this fact isn't the only thing to take in consideration to explain it. I also thought the context on the blog section wasn't calm enough to publish a blog. Now it's fixed (thank you a lot Stewart!), so I guess all will be able to become again as before, without toxicity or anything else.
Please, applause the winner of the fifth WITJ, Phytox!
baptistegorce: Salut Phytox! Après ta victoire au cinquième WITJ, serais-tu partant pour être interviewé?
Phytox: Je suis partant!
baptistegorce: Chouette! Merci à toi!
Phytox: Mais de rien!
baptistegorce: So let’s start this interview! First, could you present yourself on JetPunk quickly for our readers who don’t know you?
Phytox: Hello, I’m Phytox, a 23 years old guy from France and I’m a computer science student. I really like geography since I’m 7 and I discovered Jetpunk ~2 years ago by searching a way to improve my geographic knowledge. I started making quiz at the begining of 2021.
baptistegorce: You are my interviewee thanks to (or because of…?) your victory in the fifth WITJ. What could you say about your feelings when you read you had won? How did you find the answer?
Phytox: I was really surprised because it was my first try. To find potential answers, I checked in my users notification to find list and charentine fulfilled the condition. I already had seen their comments few times so I tried, it was clearly a lucky guess.
baptistegorce: You have an amazing ratio of almost 36% of your quizzes featured. How could you explain this huge success?
Phytox: I’m happy my quizzes meet a good succes. I usually take a lot of time to make the quiz I would love to take and it seems some people share the same interest on my quiz as I have. For the ratio, doing mostly french quiz probably make it easier to have them featured.
baptistegorce: You have impressive skills in coding, as we can see in some of your quizzes, like the very original Draw in Pixel Art. For several months, we can see that the quizzes with animations or original CSS generally meet success. Do you think a part of the future of quiz creation can be found in coding?
Phytox: Coding and every other technical skills are formidable tools to make quiz and CSS offer lots of possibility but it’s important to remember that coding without idea will not handle a bad quiz by itself. The main drawback of those skills is to make text-only quiz look less interesting than a shiny SVG quiz, even if it takes longer to make.
baptistegorce: What is your own quiz you are the proudest of?
Phytox: My favorite quiz is « Les départements français ? » I created it to be an april fool’s day quiz, replacing french departements with countries of the world. I had a lot of fun finding countries with the same shape as departements. Definitly my favorite.
baptistegorce: Do you have big projects of quizzes in preparation?
Phytox: I wouldn’t say I have a big project in preparation, I just have a dozen of half-finished project I will finish one day, maybe...
baptistegorce: What is the most important event in your own life of JetPunker?
Phytox: My most important event was probably when I created my first quiz, last January. I created my account a few years ago and creating quiz was a new adventure for me, full of surprise and fun. I think it’s a good training to create public things and to learn to handle criticism.
baptistegorce: If you had to resume your JetPunk adventure in one word, what would it be?
Phytox: Curiosity. Because it’s a word which describes how I discovered Jetpunk, how Jetpunk help me to start new interests in various subjects and a formidable fuel to create new and interesting quiz.
baptistegorce: Would you change something to tour JetPunk adventure, if it was possible?
Phytox: I don’t think I would change anything, because making mistakes are a good way to learn and to be better.
baptistegorce: If you had to choose just three JetPunker for their quizzes, who will it be?
Phytox: Hard to choose, I will say :
BolyaiAnna because she made a lot of creative quizzes on various topics. Her dedication for French section is also really impressive !
Dekkie, I love their countries of the world in year XXXX because it requires both geography and history knowledge, two of my favorite subjects.
Overtired for his amazing quizzes from the simplest yet creative ideas to technically impressive quizzes, he made a lot of good quizzes.
baptistegorce: And for their blogs?
Phytox: Honestly, I don’t read a lot of blog, and i don’t remember the name of bloggers.
baptistegorce: What are your passions in life, except JetPunk?
Phytox: Overall, I love to learn new things everyday in various subjects.
As I previously said, I like geography and history, I also really like chemistry and physics because they are formidable ways to learn about nature and life around us. I also love to practice archery.
baptistegorce: “JetPunk actuality question”*: What do you think of the recent introduction of a dark mode on JetPunk? Will you use it?
*It was a question about the JetPunk actuality when the questions have been written, on the 21th of September.
Phytox: I already use dark mode because I prefer darker websites. I think it’s a good feature but it makes SVG kinda hard to convert in dark mode but overall it’s a good improvement. This feature was implemented for a sad reason and I hope Quizmaster will be better !
baptistegorce: You are on the JetPunk Discord server, and on the French one. What do you think about them?
Phytox: The French discord server is a formidable place to exchange and help each other. It’s a good way to meet other jetpunkers.
I rarely go to the English discord because it is too fast for me. I mainly check users-shared quiz. I think it is a good place.
baptistegorce: What do you hope for JetPunk development in the next months?
Phytox: Honestly I really like how Jetpunk is now but I can’t wait to see future improvements.
baptistegorce: Do you have a message to pass to the whole JetPunk community (or at least to the few users reading these blogs…)?
Phytox: Continue to make and take quizzes and to be such a good community. Going to Jetpunk is a good way to learn and challenge our knowledge. For quiz makers, continue to do so if you like it ! And if you want to create quiz but are too afraid to do so, give it a try ! And probably the most important, be nice to each other, we worth better than bashing people we don’t know for stupid reasons. And of course, have fun !
baptistegorce: It's the end of this interview. Encore merci, Phytox! J'espère ne pas t'avoir trop ennuyé...
Phytox: Pas du tout, c'était avec plaisir.
As always, I've to say that it's the end of this interview. Thank you a lot, Phytox, for having gaven all these very interesting answers, in a kinda complex organization. It was a pleasure to interview you!
I'll choose myself the next interviewee, but make sure you won't have to wait as many months as for this interview... It should be easier now, partially thanks to our awesome Stewart!
Thanks again for reading, and have a nice day!
Thank you so much for another interview!! This was amazing!!
