Hello dear JetPunkers!
Today I'm very proud to present you a very interesting interview about a very creative quizmaker I'm sure you all know now: Elboy (and not dug28, sorry, maybe next time (I would love it)...!)!
But do you really know him...? I'm pretty sure you can wait to learn more about this amazing JetPunker so it's time for the interview!
baptistegorce: Let’s start this interview! First, could you present yourself on JetPunk quickly for our readers who don’t know you?
Elboy: Hi Poirot! I'm Elboy. I am 30 and I live in France.
I discovered JetPunk in July 2020, at a time I wanted to improve my geographic knowledge. I have to admit I was really bad at geography and I felt it was time to fill this gap! JetPunk was the perfect place to learn while having fun.
baptistegorce: Our readers have probably already tried your amazing Country shapes in my burger quiz, which became featured at the beginning of the week. How do you feel thinking about it?
Elboy: Honestly, I still can't believe one of my quizzes became popular on the english section and even got featured. When I created my first quizzes, I thought this would take years for a quiz of mine to get featured... But it only took a few weeks for this one!
baptistegorce: How did you get inspiration for this quiz? Will you create other quizzes like this one?
Elboy: SPOILER ALERT - I was in search of a funny quiz to create and one day I was looking at a burger picture, I realized Nepal could make a good salad leaf and Nicaragua a delicious melty cheddar slice. Add the Sri Lanka ketchup drop and I had the full idea! - SPOILER ALTER END
Sure, I plan to create other quizzes like the *Burger *one, but I'm waiting to find the right inspiration and the perfect design. So be patient!
baptistegorce: What do you think about the JetPunk French section in particular (recent quizzes, active quizmakers,…)?
Elboy: The French section is absolutely great: lots of interesting and original quizzes (and not simply translation of english quizzes), great quizmakers too! I like spending time on this section as much as on the english one.
baptistegorce: Do you have big projects of quizzes in preparation (on your original account)?
Elboy: I create according to my desires, so no real "big projects" for now, just ideas (specially for the French section). I also plan to make a SVG quiz on... wait, we can't talk of it here... I'm sure we're bugged! laugh
baptistegorce: What is the most important event in your own life of JetPunker?
Elboy: As a "young" JetPunker, my life here is still quite short! But two moments come to my mind: firstly, the day my "Rébus quiz" series has been featured in the French section. I was proud of my work on these quizzes and being spotted was very rewarding. Secondly, and this will be no surprise, the day my *Burger *quiz has been featured!
baptistegorce: “JetPunk actuality question”: What do you think about the add of friends on JetPunk? Do you think it’s a good idea?
Elboy: Maybe it's a bit early to tell but it seems to be an excellent idea to develop the relational part within JetPunk communities, without becoming a real social network -and all the complications that come with it. I can't wait to see what this feature has in store for us!
baptistegorce: If you had to choose just three JetPunker for their quizzes, who will it be?
Elboy: Tough one! I would say:
- Stewart for his random maps and flags quizzes. These quizzes offer excellent replayability: the assurance of never being bored!
- dug28 for his creativity and incredible work with SVG. This guy is a real genius!
- zwerth66 for his amazing Topological Map quizzes. I think this may be the most clever work I found on JetPunk.
baptistegorce: And for their blogs?
Elboy: Honestly I don't read enough blogs on JetPunk to compare, so I'm afraid I can't give you a revelant answer here.
baptistegorce: What are your passions in life, except JetPunk?
Elboy: I like movies, comic books, science and I just love to learn new things. That's why I spend so much time on JetPunk!
baptistegorce: You are in the JetPunk Discord server. Is it a good experience? Why?
Elboy: It is a very good experience for me!
Actually I'm in the "official" JetPunk Discord server and the francophone one. Both are great, but I spend more time on the second one. I appreciate being able to suggest ideas, provide or find help within a community. As to the francophone community: it's awesome and I hope it will expand even more.
baptistegorce: What do you hope for JetPunk development in the next months?
Elboy: I can't wait to see what comes next with the new *Friends *feature.
Other than that, I think the site is great the way it is. Too many new things could distort the site identity in my opinion. As the saying goes: Perfect is the enemy of good!
baptistegorce: Sur ces beaux mots, cette interview touche à sa fin. Merci beaucoup pour ces excellentes réponses!
Elboy: Avec grand plaisir!
To be honest, this interview is one of my favorite (to do and to read). I hope you liked it too!
If you haven't already done it, don't forget to try the awesome Elboy quiz...!
The next interview will be the 10th. It will be a special interview (mystery...!) so don't miss it (and you don't know when it will be , so you will have to check RUB everyday during months...! MWAHAHA!!).
Also, after the next interview, I'll probably make a little resume of the begining of this blogging adventure.
Thanks a lot for reading!
And thank you a lot! It means a lot.
Maybe on April 1st...
But thank you a lot for your compliments.
Wow, this will all fit on a plane strip!? It will be complicated... LOL
But thanks a lot!
