Introduction
As you maybe know, the Reddit Place event took place from the 1st to the 4 of April. To quickly explain, that was the second edition (first in 2017) of a collaborative and competitive event, where each participant can place a single pixel each 5 minutes. Alone, you can't do anything, but with a great team of alliance... That's what JetPunk decided to do. This blog will tell you, day by day, the steps in the evolution of JetPunk on the canva.
Just a note before starting: the events are presented how I saw and understood them myself. There might be some mistakes, or at least ambiguations, but that's just how I felt it. If you think something has to be fixed, let me know it in comment. And remember that I live in France (UTC+2). It can sometimes explain the way I decided to cut the chronology of the Place event.
Finally, please keep in mind that this blog doesn't pretend to be a very serious treaty, but just a few information of an event that made JetPunk shining on its way on an international online catwalk.
Day 1: Rise and Fall
To be completely honest, that's probably the day I know the least about, mostly because it started when I was sleeping, and didn't know about the event. I discovered its working on this day and was mostly observing.
Nevertheless, I can tell you some things about this date. JetPunk decided to create its own logo on the canva, or at least to write on its name. It finally succeed, but then fall during the night and sadly completely disappeared, replaced by the drawing below:
Day 2: Invasion(s) and implantation
This day was probably my favourite one. After the obliteration of the former small JP.com, the community was looking for a new place to represent us on the canva. After a failed attempt near to the femboy flag, we finally succeeded to conquer a small place near to the giant Italian flag. Our beginings there where kinda difficult, but we finally achieved a "JET PUNK" rectangle. We then became able to draw our first Jeppy on the canva. At this moment, it was surely our biggest achievement so far.
Day 3: Peace and Stability
After the invasion of a small trans stripe, JetPunk was able to improve significantly the size of "JETPUNK" and the quality of the Jeppy drawing, to make a very nice drawing, more or less our final one.
This day also marked the building of a strong alliance, first with our brothers of Seterra, and then with several surrounding communities (Luxembourg and Guatemala, SharkPog,..).
Day 4: Last Invasions and End
All was ready at the begining of this last, so we just have to defend our place and those of the members of our alliance (and you may have understood that, despite the fact that it's necessary, defending is not my favourite part of the game).
Guatemala was probably to gourmand by trying to expand on Romania and got invaded, Romania was replaced by Poland, who then invaded SharkPog and made an fortunately unsuccessful attempt on Luxembourg,... but JetPunk stayed alive. The alliance was expanded to Stop War and two spots under us, and a non-agression pact was signed between the alliance and giant Italy, making of our zone one of the most peaceful part of the whole canva.
All finished greatly for us. Everything was for the best.
Conclusion
The event finally ended. It was for me a very funny and enjoyable experience, which I surely would like to reproduce in some years, although my participation was very limited and a lot less important than many JetPunkers.
I of course would like to thank all the participants who made this project possible, and in particular Vicky/IAB, the best war captain we could have dreamed (make sure I also don't forget all the members of our whole alliance).
Thanks for reading, and have a nice day!
more than a certain other quiz website, I guess. That one American night spent defending was worth it
And meeting ambassadors from Shark Pog and Guatemala and Luxembourg was very fun
Btw, reaching level 40 isn't so hard, more again if English is your native language.
