The Spanish Empire was one of the largest empires in the world and at its height in the 16th and 17th century, it controlled continuous land all the way from the southernmost tip of the American Continent, in Chile, to as far north as Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada. However, unsurprisingly, the empire slowly lost its power and land it had before and it finally relinquished its last major colony, Western Sahara, in 1975, and soon after in the following year, 1976, the Spanish Empire was dissolved. But what if the empire reunited to the exact borders it had in its peak point, today?
Population and Land
So, the first thing we need to think about is the population and land the reunited empire would have in possession. To start off, a total of 41 countries, 20% of all the countries in the world, would lose all or some of their territory to this giant, with most of them being concentrated in the Americas. The Spanish would also have some tiny exclaves carved into the coast of East Asian and North African countries as well; I would expect that these would be used as minor ports and naval bases for the empire's maritime borders.
Even though 40 countries would not seem a lot if you look at all the countries in the world, the land area of the empire would still be gargantuan. In total, the empire would find itself in control of 5.29 million square miles of land (13.7 million square kilometers). This would be more than enough to make the empire the second-largest country in the world, beating up other massive countries like Canada (3.85 million square miles) and China (3.74 million square miles), but remaining quite behind the continental mammoth, Russia (6.6 million square miles).
The population of the Spanish Empire would also be very impressive, standing at a massive 603,305,000 people which would also make it the third-most populous country in the world, being ahead of other hugely populated countries like the United States (328,240,000) and Indonesia (274,230,000), but remaining well behind the usual contesters, India (1,380,000,000) and China (1,447,000,000). Such a massive population would mainly account for the huge population centers the Spanish would control like Spain, South America, Mexico, the Philippines, and the entire Western United States.
As well as a very boastful land area and population, the empire would have many big cities. The capital city of the country would very likely be Madrid as it is already the capital and financial hub of Spain itself but is a big population center as well. However, despite this, Madrid would in no doubt be the most populous urban area in the empire, not even close to that! Manila, in the Philippines, would be the biggest city within the empire with a massive population of 26,300,000. This would actually make the empire be in an awkward situation though as Manila and the entire Philippines itself would actually be very isolated from the rest of the country in the Americas but nonetheless, here would be the top 10 largest cities within the empire:

- Dallas (7,300,000)
Money and GDP
As well as a huge population and land area, a reunited Spanish Empire would also have a very powerful economy. To start off, the Nominal GDP of the juggernaut would stand at a strong $16.863 Trillion if you took all of its financial and economic centers into consideration. This would be enough to put it in second place, in terms of GDP, just ahead of China ($16.64 Trillion), but still remaining trillions of dollars behind the United States ($22.68 Trillion). The GDP per Capita of the empire would stand at a reasonable $27,948, still well above the Global Average of $18,381. This would be enough for the empire to have the 33rd highest living standards in the world, just in front of Bahrain ($27,540) but behind Cyprus ($28,890). The Spanish would also control the world's largest oil reserves, in modern-day Venezuela. This would put the empire in a great situation and topped off with the vital Panama Canal in their hands, they would have a big income rate.
Religion and Ethnic Groups
The Spanish Empire would be a very diverse country with many Religions and Ethnic Groups prevailing within its borders. Starting off with Religion, the most followed belief in the empire would be Catholic Christianity at a big majority of 72% of the empire's inhabitants adhering to the religion. Protestants would make up the largest minority at 13%, Sunni Islam would be followed at 2.5%, and the final block would be Atheists and Non-Religious at 7.5%.
The ethnicities of the empire would also be very diverse. Mestizos, meaning people of mixed European and Amerindian heritage, would make up the majority of the population at 60%, while people that identify as exclusively white would make up the next largest ethnicity at 18%. This would be followed by exclusively Amerindians at 14%. People who identify as black make up a further 3%, and the remaining 5% of the empire would be a mix of various other small ethnic groups.

Military Size
The Spanish would also possess one of the largest withstanding militaries in the world, with 1,593,000 active-duty troops plus an extra 1,878,000 troops placed in reserves. Combining the two, the empire would have a total of 3,471,000 troops in control which would make it have the 5th largest land force in the world, having more troops than Russia (3,454,000 troops), but having fewer troops than those of India (5,137,000 troops) and Vietnam (5,522,000). With all of this taken into consideration, the Spanish Empire would have an estimated military budget of around $51.9 Billion, ahead of the United Kingdom ($48.3 Billion), but remaining behind France ($55.7 Billion), India ($55.9 Billion), and Saudi Arabia ($61.87 Billion). The Spanish would also be a Nuclear power, inheriting some of the United States' nukes but it is unclear how many they would possess.
Overall, it seems like the Spanish Empire would be a formidable superpower having an economy and military strength to rival those of China, Russia, and what is left of the United States. Speaking of the US, it would be improbable that they would just let the reunited empire take more than half of its territory so the Spanish would definitely seek themselves a bitter rival. The rest of the empire's future would be totally unpredictable but any theory is possible in this rapidly-changing world. That was another part of my Recreated Countries series and if you have any other suggestions for significant empires you want me to do, please let me know! But for now, Goodbye :)

A Uniao Iberinte foi incrivel e gracas a eles, nasceu o Brasil!
(Sorry, I can't speak Portuguese that well yet)
(Now English lol) In fact... yeah, so so. Because of Iberian Union, the Dutch invaded Brazil. You’ll see more about it in my collab blog about Brazilian History, with ZooTuber :)
Sorry if I have caused any inconvenience but maybe another Jetpunker could redo the series. I hope this makes sense :)
