Geography Snap Statistics (February 2023)

As many of you know by now, there is a leaderboard in every game mode of Geography Snap. More precisely, the 5 fastest players per day, per week and since the beginning of Geography Snap (not really, more like since 26^th October 2020). Well, the player Changedaworld invented a points system according to the rank of a player in the All-Time leaderboard. Here it is :

1^st place : 7 points

2^nd place : 5 points

3^rd place : 3 points

4^th place : 2 points

5^th place : 1 point

There is one new player this month, BI, although he or she has already been in some leaderboards, so it's more like a comeback. Also, manuelordonezf got ousted.

The player who's the 1^st in the most categories is... Changedaworld, being first in 25 game modes.

The player who's the 2^nd in the most categories is... SilverDog, being second in 25 game modes.

The player who's the 3^rd in the most categories is... Dagod, being third in 32 game modes.

The player who's the 4^th in the most categories is... Sammyboi, being fourth in 9 game modes.

The player who's the 5^th in the most categories is... Sammyboi too, being fifth in 12 game modes.

Out of all 225 All-Time top-5s times, 66 were improved, including 20 World Records !

And here is a leaderboard of the players who have the most CATs. A CAT (Category Association Triple) is when a player is in the same place in all 3 difficulty levels of the same category association.

A total of 46633 games were played in February, and the biggest day was February 2^nd, with 2535 games played !

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in an Easy game mode is 2,1 seconds, between SilverDog's 4,1 seconds and Dagod's 6,2 seconds, in Countries, Capitals & Shapes Easy.

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in a Medium game mode is 4 seconds, between SilverDog's 8,2 seconds and Dagod's 12,2 seconds, in Countries, Capitals & Shapes Medium.

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in a Hard game mode is 6,4 seconds, between Changedaworld's 12,3 seconds and Dagod's 18,7 seconds, in Countries Hard.

The greatest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in an Easy game mode is 3,8 seconds, between Changedaworld's 3,8 seconds and Batman23's 7,6 seconds, in Countries, Capitals & Shapes Easy.

The World Record that has been the most improved during February is the Capitals, Flags & Shapes Hard game mode, where it has been improved from 13,5 seconds to 11,5 seconds ! That's 2 seconds that were cut off !

The non-World Record time that has been the most improved during February is the Capitals & Shapes Hard game mode 2^nd place, which has been improved from 14,6 seconds to 10,9 seconds ! That's 3,7 seconds that were cut off !

The game mode where the sum of every time in the All-Time top 5 has been the most improved is Countries, Flags & Shapes Hard, where 5,5 seconds have been taken off !

If we add every time in every All-Time top 5, we get to... 2163,1 seconds, or 36 minutes and 3,1 seconds. That's 58,4 seconds that were cut off during February ! And if we only take the time of the 1^st in every All-Time, we get to 319,1 seconds, or 5 minutes and 19,1 seconds. That's 16,3 seconds that were cut off during February !

A total of 48 World Records were broken in February, in 20 different game modes ! And the game mode where the World Record has been broken the most times is Countries & Shapes Hard, with a total of 7 improvements !

The first World Record of February was the Capitals & Shapes Easy 3.6s, which was broken by SilverDog 1 day, 5 hours, 54 minutes and 18 seconds after January was over.

The lowest time gap between two World Records is 1 minute and 24 seconds, and it was on February 10^th !

The biggest time gap between two World Records is 6 days, 17 hours, 51 minutes and 17 seconds, between February 19^th and February 27^th.

Out of all World Records that got broken 2 times or more during February, the one that lasted the shortest is the Countries, Capitals, Flags & Shapes Medium 7.9s, which lasted only 3 minutes and 27 seconds ! As for the one that lasted the longest, it's the Flags & Shapes Medium 6.3s, which lasted for 9 days, 13 hours, 21 minutes and 29 seconds !

The last World Record of February was the Flags & Shapes Medium 5.9s, which was broken by Changedaworld 1 day, 4 hours, 36 minutes and 2 seconds before March.

In conclusion, this month has been surprising. What happened between February 17th and February 20th was very unexpected. As I predicted, the 330-seconds barrier was broken, but more surprisingly, the 320-seconds one too. It maybe seems like this could go below 300 seconds one day. Almost one minute was cut off of the All-Time top-5s sum again, so that's pretty neat. Changedaworld also managed to be the first player to have had the World Record at some point in every old leaderboard in February. Maybe Dagod will achieve to be on all 45 leaderboards in March ? Now, I think the 310-seconds barrier will be broken in March, and maybe the 35-minutes one for the sum of All-Time top-5s. It seems like nothing is finished yet, and a lot of improvements can still be done !
