Quiz Creation Challenge #09R: The Most Musical Quizzes on JetPunk!

In a previous blog I held a contest where I challenged JetPunk to make a quiz related to a specific theme. This time around, the theme was: music! I've selected the quizzes “that topped the charts” so to speak, and have put them here in this blog post so that everyone can see them! Hooray! Also I'd think it'd be super cool it if you would play these quizzes for yourself, cuz they're real good :)
Quiz #1
Spinning Disks in a Slot-In Record Player by baptistegorce
Something I’ve noticed on JetPunk in the past couple of years or so is an increase in SVGs that are very distinctly NOT maps. This, combined with CSS usage, has lead to some of the most creative quizzes on the site and the way they’re implemented in this quiz is a great example of such. You have to identify famous musicians based on their image seen on a disk from a slot-in music player. What’s a slot-in music player? I honestly don’t know, but you don’t really need to know. All that’s important is that when a disk is slotted into the player, half of it is obscured and the image on the disk is spun super fast. Aside from the obvious theming, this is very clever since the quiz is less about identifying people based on their pictures and is rather about trying to understand how you’re supposed to even be looking at the image. It’s a really cool concept that stands out from similar, non headache inducing quizzes, and my only complaint is that I wish it was longer. You really knocked it out of the park with this one, and I hope you’re considering making a sequel!
Quiz #2
Name the Tune by cathlete
This quiz is sort of a spiritual successor to the ones that would actually play music and sounds that can’t be made anymore due to JetPunk removing the feature (mostly due to copyright reasons, understandably). Instead of an audio clip, you’re given a small snippet of sheet music for a well-known song, ranging from nursery rhymes to national anthems to memes. It’s a fairly simple concept but it’s executed very well, and often times those are the best kinds of quizzes. A bit of basic music knowledge is required to fully enjoy this quiz, but in real life if you took a music theory quiz without knowing music theory then you would fail and probably not enjoy it so I guess that’s fair. All you really need to know though is that notes higher on the staff are higher pitched, and vice-versa for lower notes, and your brain should fill in the rest for you. As someone that’s been playing music recreationally for pretty much my entire life it’s something that comes naturally, but I thought I’d give a little heads up for anyone about to try it. Overall, very good quiz! Please don’t be offended if I steal your idea in the future 🙏
Quiz #3
Musician to Band by MDawg396
In this quiz you’re shown a famous musician and you have to select the band they’re in from a list of 20. This makes use of the new click quiz format (or, at least new-ish relative to the other quiz types) and is one of the more clever quizzes to come from it. It’s a pretty difficult format to workaround if you don’t already have a clear vision for it so you don’t see them very often. It’s nice whenever a good one pops up in the wild (or when it comes to you in challenge). I also like the selection of bands and musicians, a nice mix of old and new, famous and slightly-less-famous. Again another simple quiz, but I thought it was pretty cool. I’m not very experienced with this quiz type so I can’t offer any sort of advice or criticism, but I did enjoy it so clearly you’re doing something right.
Quiz #4
Alternative Album Covers by JWatson24
Woah, four quizzes?! Yep. I didn’t intend on doing four, but I had a really hard time picking between this quiz and the ones above so I decided to pick them all!
This quiz features you guessing the names of albums based on their covers, BUT instead being provided the actual cover art you instead have to guess based on an AI’s interpretation of the album art. It’s a weird, but cool, idea for a quiz. The weirdness is mostly due to the AI and its drawings as it gets quite… creative with some of the artwork. Some of it looks like it could be a legitimate album cover, others not so much. I had a really fun trying to decipher what the AI was going for! I’m not very knowledgeable on albums though I was able to get some answers solely by guessing. It’d be interesting to see a version of the quiz for movies or video games

Other Quizzes
If you’re just checking this challenge out for the first time, or you missed these the first time around, here are the other quizzes people submitted for the challenge. I obviously don’t have time to talk about all of them but they’re all worth checking out. So check them out!Well, I managed to complete these results surprisingly fast. Usually it takes me a month to get them out. Hope you don’t mind me breaking tradition! lol. I want to give a big thank you to everyone who participated and I hope you consider playing again next time.
See you soon. Bye!

SpiritofFirePoirot’s quiz 👀Great quizzes, and I hope we have new QCC soon
why am I replying only nowI’m humbled you mentioned mine; I hope other are able to enjoy taking it as much as I enjoyed making it.
I personally really liked Watson's quiz. I already made quite a few "AI picture" quizzes, but his own one is truly amazing. Definitely a quiz to nominate, like your other quizzes, obviously.
