1: General Knowledge
General Knowledge is a Youtube channel ran by a Portuguese guy (all videos are in English) that consists of animations and maps or interesting history and information about countries and empires. This channel discusses basic topics like cities, currency, and population that are made entertaining by animations and drawings. My favorite General Knowledge playlist is titled, “Colonial Empires.” Each video talks about different empires throughout history and is perfect for giving you the information you might need to make a Jetpunk quiz about that empire. I know General Knowledge is one of the youtube channels I look for in my recommended.
2: Geography Now
Geography Now has a specific video on 165 countries is is still making monthly videos on all countries A-Z. The host, “Paul Barbato,” is funny and does a good job of explaining each country’s, physical and political geography as well as sections dedicated to the friends and demographics of that country. Paul is often joined by a person from the country he is talking about just to make sure the information is as accurate as can be.
3: Oversimplified
Oversimplified is all about wars and politics. Each video talks about a war or subject such as prohibition and animates it. Each video is great as it explains the history simply and provides the viewer with funny jokes, animations, and information about the topic.Oversimplified also has a whole playlist dedicated to videos about mini-wars that many people have never heard of.
4: Bald and Bankrupt
Join an Englishman through his adventures in former British Raj and Soviet countries. He gives anyone an insight into how it might be living in Chernobyl and even meets a couple living inside of it. Bald is very outgoing and often times talks to random strangers in the streets. His understanding of Hindi and Russian lets him talk to almost everyone he wants to talk to. He takes the viewers through old historic monuments that you may have never heard of.
