The United Kingdom is comprised of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Some say that each of those four are sovereign. Some say the opposite. Here is a place to argue about whether or not they are real sovereign countries. (Hint: They're not. The UK is the country.) Comment below to share your thoughts and arguments.
They are basically countries (England, Scotland, NI and Wales), within a larger country (United Kingdom).
This is a lot like how Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Netherlands are all countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
They are not sovereign, but they are still "countries".
The UK is a kingdom, like the name says, so these “countries” can be like this. The only thing that I know, that they’re First-Level Subdivisions. What difficult... LOL
