Okay, here are the official answers.

1. 4 socks. If Shannon has two, then they could be different colors. If she has 3, then they could still all be different colors. But the fourth sock will always be the same color as at least one of them.

2. A map. This is found by reversing the first 3 letters of each name.

3. They're playing cards. Richard peeked at Katy's hand of cards after she asked him to hold it for her.

4. The man is a priest.

5. Each word contains three consecutive letters.

6. There is only three men, a father, a son, and a grandfather, so only \$4.50 was spent.

7. The graphite (or 'lead' as some may know it) inside a pencil.

8. The woman is writing cheques for each of her employees.

9. E, N, and T. The sequence is the first letter of each of the numbers 1-10.

10. Joe was a window cleaner and jumped into the window on the 44th floor, from his window cleaner's platform on the outside.

11. Antony and Cleopatra are fish. A strong breeze blew in through the open window and knocked the fishbowl off the ledge where it was sitting, shattering it on the floor. The fish died of suffocation.

12. Rover's leash is not attached to anything besides his collar, so Rover simply runs across the yard to his ball.

13. 28. If a man and half can do a road and a half in a day and a half, first double everything to get rid of any annoying fractions, which gives you 3 men doing 3 roads in 3 days. From there, simply do the math to find the answer, 28.

14. At the North Pole. This is the only place on Earth where this would be possible.

15. The band, who played the national anthem for each competing nation at the Olympics.

Congratulations to Neodymium for being the first user to guess every answer correctly! And thank you to everyone else who joined in, you all answered most questions correctly.

Answers from cgpt (i did this after my submission and did not use these):

Question #1

To guarantee a matching pair of socks, Shannon must take three socks with her. This is known as the Pigeonhole Principle, where if she takes more than three socks, she will surely have a matching pair among them.

Pamela found a pat. The three names each contain a syllable that corresponds to an item: "Garth" contains "garbage," "Pamela" contains "pail," and "Patricia" contains "pat."

Katy asked Richard to hold her hand. However, when she returned, she found Richard holding hands with another person (likely someone else at the table), thus causing the misunderstanding.

All the words contain consecutive double letters: CALMNESS (LL), CANOPY (NN), DEFT (TT), FIRST (RR), SIGHING (GG), STUN (NN).

Joe was inside a building on the 44th floor. He opened a window in a flight simulation game and did not jump in reality, so there was no physical harm.

Rover is already attached to a 3-meter leash. He doesn't need to move the ball toward him; instead, he moves around the ball while still leashed, reaching it without pulling it towards him.

Question #13

If a man and a half can asphalt a road and a half in a day and a half, then six men can asphalt six roads in the same day and a half, assuming all work at the same rate.

Question #15

No athlete has played for all the teams at the Olympics in the same year.
