The final 3 quizzes in my series entitled ON THIS DAY have been made and scheduled for publication on the appropriate day.
It's been a long road through a rough unusual year, 2020 will be remembered for a loooooong time I'm sure.
During this journey I have learnt too many things to list in a short blog entry, but suffice to say, most days I went off at a tangent whilst compiling the quizzes. Often for a few hours leaving little time to finish the quiz. If some of the days seem a little rushed at the end, this is the reason. No apologies, No excuses, it's just the way it was.
I have decided that even though these quizzes will be on Jetpunk for ever (or at least for the seeable future), I will not be updating them. This would take too much of my time to keep on top of every day, and I have other projects that I need to spend time and effort on.
The OTD quizzes haven't recieved as many takes as I would have liked or even hoped, however they all have at least one take and the majority around 5 or 6. Bizarrely one quiz stands out with (at time of writing) 61 takes and that is June 2nd. I've gone through the quiz and can't find any reason why that date should have so much relevance. If anyone has any idea please comment below !
Hopefully this series of quizzes will keep attracting the occasional take on someones birthday and the figures will go up over time.
At the end of the day I didn't make the quizzes for takes, subs, or recognition. I made these quizzes for the same reason I made many others, and the same reason I still do crosswords and puzzles. It keeps the brain active. In the words of my father.."Use it or lose it" . I have no intention of losing my mind without a fight and I therefore exercise it every day. Although this being a quiz website, I understand I may be preaching to the converted here!
And so what news for the future ?
I was originally thinking of doing a series with quizzes, similar to the Country Quiz series, about every single UK county, including England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Crown Dependancies (Isles of Man, Jersey Guernsey etc) and the Overseas Territories. However it seems that someone has beaten me to it, at least on the English ones, I'm looking at you Berney. Although I don't hold it against you and wish you luck, I've taken a couple of those quizzes and they are pretty good. Not quite as I would have done them but that's me being different.
I don't want to copy another users quizzes so I will take a little time out to have a rethink and hopefully come up with a few ideas.
I may add a few quizzes to some of my other series, especially the picture quizzes, I like doing those as well as multiple choice ! Now if we could at some time in the future have multiple choice picture quizzes..........
Thats about it for now but may I just take this oppurtunity to thank everyone that has taken some of my quizzes throughout the year, and anyone that has commented, I will always try to reply in some way to each comment. My thoughts are that if someone is kind enough to take time to comment, it is only polite and respectful that I reply.
Can I also say that I hope everyone had a good festive season, whatever religion you may follow or not, whatever the case may be. And I hope that you all have a better and prosperous 2021. Can't be any worse than this year. (Well at least I hope not !)
If you want to take some of my quizzes then please do, and subscribe to me so that you don't miss out on some of my new quizzes when they are published.
Thats it for now except to say
STAY SAFEand keep quizzing !
Written on day 363 of 366 !
It takes a lot of discipline to accomplish a feat like this. You are an inspiration. Many users will always remember when you committed to 366 days of consistency.
Are you planning on doing one per day ? That would take you over 10 years !!😲😲😲
I wish you the very best of luck...You are going to need it !
And currently, the series is 99.1803279% done! ;)
I dont think the data exists for an "In this hour" series let alone any other
Congratulations for all these efforts made during a whole year! I don't know if other quizmakers could do this. I'm admirative!
Bonne chance pour cette année 2021 à venir! J'attends la suite avec impatience!
Merci! I hope this new year will be better than the previous one... But there are no reasons, no?
Along with quite a few not so nice words in numerous languages, most of which I have forgotten.
