My wishes to you
In this special time I want to wish you merry Christmas. Spend time with your family or friends. Turn off your computers, tablets, phones, etc. That's only one day in the whole year!Christmas in Poland
Our traditional dishes
- mushroom soup- beetroot soup
- many different fish (the most popular is carp)
- cabbage with peas
- vegetable salad with eggs
- noodles with poppy seeds
- pierogi (some kind of dumplings) with cabbage and mushrooms
Personally, I think the best dishes are pierogi and beetroot soup and I don't like cabbage with peas.
When we get gifts?
We get gifts (presents) on 24th December when the first star appears on the sky. It's around17 p.m.The presents are under the Christmas tree. Then we can sit at the table and have Christmas supper eating the meals mentioned above. We should leave one place at the table for the special guest. We put some hay under the tablecloth. After/before the supper we divide the Christmas wafer.
Summary
Christmas is the most important holiday in the year. The whole families meet together and talk to each other. During pandemic it's almost impossible. Once again, Merry Christmas to all JetPunkers!Thank you for reading this blog! I hope you enjoyed it! Now, turn off the device you're currently on and celebrate with your family! Also, sorry for some language mistakes or something, my English isn't really good.
I have a few Polish friends here in the UK and It's good to know about their traditions and how they differ from mine.
in my house we always cook the turkey on Christmas Eve and we have hot turkey sandwiches at about 10pm.
Happy New Year
