Can someone familiar with China explain

- ratio of Mandarin to Cantonese

- which NSWE regions speak Cantonese

- why they speak Cantonese in Hong Kong (and any other notable areas)

- ratio of emmigrants around the world who speak Mandarin to Cantonese

Please & Thanks. Fortunately somewhere in my mind is stashed away that Hong Kong = Cantonese, but I've forgotten why.

Mandarin is the standard language, so all educated Chinese adults must know it. However, it's not a native language for a certain portion of people (you can google it).

Cantonese is spoken in Hong Kong, Macau and the province of Guandong (previously written as Canton). They speak it because it's their native language. Mandarin to them is a "standard variety" that they have to learn too, forming diglossia.

All of the ratios that you want are easily googlable.

10/10, my 4th-best score at 9930, might've beaten my record if I hadn't hesitated on question 6, but my high scores are clustered together so tightly I think this is around the peak I can realistically expect to reach (unless I get a day of nothing but capitals lol)

Also, it's day 150 of daily trivia, and in a fitting manner, I've finally managed to get my average score back to just over 9k after my collapse last month ❤️

Got up this morning feeling exceptionally good. As I sat down at my computer, I thought, "I'm firing on all cylinders this morning. I might even get 10/10 on the Jetpunk daily quiz!" And I did!

It just shows how much influence Jetpunk has over my life.

Same, I knew it was a significant line from the movie and I kinda know what it's referring to but I've never actually seen it so I had no idea if it was the last line or not haha

It's not the last line of the movie, it's just Kane's dying word. I believe it's actually the first line in the movie, in fact.

That one almost got me. I saw "character that ages" and "Benjamin Button" and almost clicked him on instinct. The only reason I didn't is because I remembered seeing a similar question on a different DTC, which caused me to double check the wording of the question.

8/10…but there must be a lot of folks who didn’t get 10/10 today, despite what it says on the comments, because my percentage I was equal to or better than was still over 75%.
