I don't think I've ever heard of Seal/Kiss from a Rose. Looks like it was used in Batman Forever & Neverending Story

You really threw me there, so I had to look it up as I know the Neverending Story was much older than Kiss from a Rose. It was in fact in Neverending Story 3! But the song was a VERY big one-hit wonder in the 90s.

Seal had a few hits.

“Crazy” and “Killer” mainly.

Album was big.

Those are from his first album too and Kiss From A Rose is from his second. Both were big. Though confusingly both albums were just called “Seal”.

Not a one hit wonder, even in the US where Crazy hit the top ten.

Also used to hilarious effect in both Shameless and Community, if you've ever seen those shows

The dancing plague was a likely mass hysteria event where people believed they were compelled to dance because of their sins or some such reason. It’s not well documented and the number of deaths varies wildly from hundreds to… none. There’s a neat episode of Puppet History on YouTube about it. I recommend it for immature history enthusiasts.

Also recommend Florence + The Machine's song "Choreomania", inspired by the event. You won't learn much about the history, but it's a great song, and the only reason that I got that question right.

Based on the stats, yesterday's seems to have been on the harder-than-average side, the day before maybe on the easier side, and still too early to tell today

But hey, don't jinx it 👀😂

Again with this Brussels thing... Brussels is the executive capital of the European Union. Strasbourg is the legislative capital, and Luxembourg is the judiciary capital. Can't we just call Brussels what is it, the "executive capital" (de jure and de facto), instead of completely making up a nonsensical category?

Journalists and newsreaders often use a capital city to refer to an entire national entity, eg: “While Washington is concerned about the climate talks, Paris have issued strong reassurances”

When referring to the EU, this city is always Brussels.

Super fun and easy until the last two. I guessed duels killed people because who would've thought it was dancing, and then I had to rule some out and take a lucky guess on Bellagio, because the only Bellagio I know is on the Strip. And they do have a lake.

The dancing plague is a very common podcast topic.

It also comes up frequently in wikipedia rabbit holes, or when the topic of shared hysteria gets brought up.

Kind of like ergot poisoning
