Thanks for the best daily quiz on earth! Still, I suggest to restrain from questions relating to single language (demure, mittwoch today), unless they represent something that has to do with "universal general knowledge." Bad English is lingua franca, not it's finesses like rare-used word demure. Mittwoch is more justified, as it resembles all the other anglo-german phrases depicting something, that's in the middle of the week.
Demure is not rarely used! I’d say it was already fairly well used before it became a TikTok trend last year. Now just about every young person with a smartphone knows it.
I don't think demure is a rare word and I am not a native English speaker, not a teenager, do not use tiktok and have not read Jane Austen (perhaps not any of the so called classics). But I know the word well enough, I must have come across it plenty of times.
(I feel like I have heard it (a lot) more often than I have read it, but I mainly watch quizzes and antique shows on the bbc and ofcourse David Attenburough so who knows where I have picked it up. I don't watch soaps or reality shows btw, I can imagine the word won't be used much in those kind of shows at all)
Dangit. Why did I pick metamorphic. Psyched myself out to miss an easy 10/10. If I wasn’t on a good pace and thought for a second, it’s pretty obvious granite doesn’t come from volcanic activity. 😒
… so that’s why I’m getting these rock questions wrong every time!!! I thought the metamorphosis was from being melted and such from volcanic activity! 😂
Granite isn't really volcanic - it is formed as magma cools deeper in the crust. If the kind of magma that would form granite erupts from a volcano, you get something a bit different called rhyolite.
Chosing geology as my one (mandatory) science class in college has paid off....As I recall, igneous rocks come from volcanic, sedimentary comes from pressured layers and metamorphic 'morph' igneous or sedimentary into 'something' else....something like that...
8/10. Again. I waivered between metamorphic and igneous and went the wrong way. And just had no clue on the Moana one. Got the Darth Vader one by process of elimination.
Dear Quizmaster, there seems to be a problem with the quizzes of 21/12 and 12/12. 21/12 only shows a black screen and 12/12 freezes after question 5. That is on kobile at least.
10/10 surprisingly easy...except #5 comes from the fun movie 'Kinky Boots...and #10 answer came from some random movie/TV show I recently watched..and I love everything 'Dwayne', serendipity
Aww man, would've been on for a new personal best there but granite caught me out 😅 A solid 9/10 though, I really need to learn my rock types better haha

Yayy! Sadly fell over at the Darth Vader question. It was between Darth Vader and Voldemort I thought ...
Not bad. I know nothing of Darth Vader or Moana.
