Yugoslavia was composed of six republics (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia) and two autonomous provinces (Vojvodina and Kosovo and Metohija, both of them within Serbia). Each one of them had exactly one city named after Tito, in order to pay respect, yet to avoid the race to name every town and village after him. These were mostly prominent partizan strongholds during the WW2. Podgorica was the only capital and the only one to be completely renamed (Titograd meaning Tito-city), and the others just had prefix "Tito's" ("Titov"/"Titova"/"Titovo") added to their respective previous names. All these cities and towns were swiftly renamed back after the breakup of Yugoslavia. I'll try to remember them all without googling (yes, I am that old): Slovenija - Titovo Velenje, Croatia - Titova Korenica, Bosnia - Titov Drvar, Serbia - Titovo Užice, Montenegro - Titograd, Macedonia - Titov Veles, Vojvodina - Titov Vrbas, Kosovo and Metohija - Titova Mitrovica.
So odd to me that anyone even knows who the spouses of Presidents and VPs are let alone gives them titles. It’s just not a thing anyone is interested in for Prime Ministers in NZ unless the partners are independently famous.
Phew, 10/10 with a couple guesses on things like Kesha and "pick the city that sounds Russian," and then that's not even the right country but I guess it worked?
Oh for pity’s sake. I missed the bloody First Lady question. I read it as first First Lady and second First Lady somehow. I was like… I am positive that Martha was First Lady… maybe that title didn’t exist until Abigail? Then I re-read the question and realized I totally chunked my 3-in-a-row attempt. 😂
Went slow to be sure on a bunch of them, still slipped up because I'd never heard of the 1995 movie, but I'll take a 9/10 considering how close I was to selecting something other than doctor for the PhD question 😅
It was named after Yugoslav dictator Josip Broz Tito and Podgorica was only given city from former Yugoslavia.
