There was a censored TV version of the film that changed the line "I’ve had it with these ****** ******* snakes on this ****** ******* plane!" to "I’ve had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane!"
Apart from Q9, I also got Q4 wrong; I chose Australia because it's the country with the most dangerous creatures but in retrospect there aren't so many people that a million could be killed from snake bites in the last 25 years. It would have to be a country with loads of people hmm, like India maybe. 🤦.
I almost said Australia until I caught that it said a million people. In Australia you can only be killed by crocodiles, sharks, spiders, scorpions, cane toads, kangaroos, mushrooms, plants, tasmanian devils, koalas, wallabies, wombats, real bats, mice, puppies, and probably snakes.
The animal most likely to kill you in Australia is a human; second most likely is a horse. Since 2000, 42 people in Australia have died from snakebite. Long way from 1,000,000, yet 37% of Jetpunkers chose Australia as the answer. Keeps the world at bay I suppose, so we're thankful for that.
Australia has loads of venomous snakes, but they've also got good health infrastructure and stocks of antivenom, so most people who get bitten survive as long as they receive medical attention in time. Not so in India, unfortunately.
9/10, I missed the question about Hermes and his snakes even though my son is named Hermes and used to have a pet snake. But his name was Long One, from Disney's Robin Hood, so that must be why I didn't know this one.
Flew through this one, I love snakes haha, 10/10 and 9,932 😁 Only needed an educated guess on the Sanskrit word, my Heroes of Might and Magic days came to the rescue there
The only reason I got the Sanskrit question is because there is a species of cobra with the scientific name Naja naja. Then again, I spaced out on the Indiana Jones question. I forgive myself that one, though; on my way to see the first Indiana Jones movie, I wrecked my brand-new 1980 Pontiac!
Bingo, 9900 on the dot! It’s been ages since I’ve done so well, too. I’m not sure how my subconscious knew naga was snake, but I had to go fast and not think at all to make it. Woohoo!
Congrats, well done! I had a good run too, you beat me by 60 points...I rarely get to the 9900 level, there's always at least 1 or 2 questions that I ponder (whether I get it right or not) plus crummy internet.
Maybe because Nagini is Voldemort's snake in Harry Potter? I only just made this connection. Looked it up and the name is indeed taken from the Sanskrit naga.
I just discounted the other answers, but I was pretty slow.
I have come across naga so often that I don't even know where I got it from, so there are quite a few ways you could have learned it.
Present in many games for instance and even books (fanatsy) I believe. Not always the exact same word but based on it. Also if you are interested in mythology. (and in my case etymology, but hardly come across people that share that interest)
Also... I have never seen all answers with 0%
6/10
Even with zero medical infrastructure, Australia would not have very many snake bite deaths.
