Yes, I thought hard about that one, then decided it must be a trick so went with Benz.

There is a fantastic book out about Rudolph Diesel by Douglas Brunt titled "The Mysterious Case of Rudolf Diesel". I have to admit, i knew nothing about him, but his story - and his disappearance - make for a great read!

I just finished the book last week. Great read! Same, I knew nothing about him previously.

Never heard of him, honestly thought they were just being funny with that one.

The two that I missed missed were two of the more guessed ones - klepotocracy + celiac
+4
Level 83

I missed kleptocracy because I read the options from the bottom up and chose wealthy. Awfully fine line on that one… kleptocracy is rule by people who use their power to steal/use the wealth of the nation for themselves. Thieves is a better answer, but didn’t even read it.

Rule by the wealthy is a plutocracy!
+8
Level 89
Aug 9, 2025
The two often seem to go hand in hand haha
+6
Level 80
Aug 9, 2025
A Kleptomaniac is someone who experiences an irresistible urge to steal. That alone gave me the idea to give thieves the nod.

6/10 picked Russia/Kasachstan which in hindsight is stupid as Kasachstan isn't so big.

Chose Bahamas over Bermuda.

And picked North Korea.

todays theme = mountains? again?

note: the theme is a repeat. it feels as if im not finding the real themes or if there isn't one... whatevs

Scotland is hilly, but not mountainous like Switzerland. It has some peaks, but they don't compare to the Alps.

Scotland is very mountainous compared to the netherlands! :) (and same goes for Denmark I believe)

(Something is basically considered a hill here if you dump a bucket of sand :P)

Managed the 10/10 today with a relatively hesitant 9,868, but the difficult questions are still at large it seems! Nearly made a few mistakes here, and I was a little paranoid so I took my time with them - especially Diesel and iconoclasts, both of which I thought seemed maybe too obvious at first 😅 The Bermuda one was difficult too, island locations are my weakest spot when it comes to geography (need to remember to revisit those quizzes and practice lol)

I got 10 as well. With Bermuda, I was like, "I think it's Bermuda" and then with Bhutan is was like "Bruh, no clue, go with Bhutan, why not"

Level 89

The Bhutan one is just one of those bits of trivia I happened to know, but yeah Bermuda was a tricky one haha; my reasoning was that it's the only one that isn't in the Caribbean, so it's probably a bit to the north (and east lol)

Also, nicely done on the score today, just noticed! 🎉

"The Haber process is an industrial method for producing ammonia (NH3) from nitrogen (N2) and hydrogen (H2) gases. This process is crucial for producing fertilizers and explosives and is named after German chemist Fritz Haber, who developed it. The process involves reacting nitrogen and hydrogen at high pressure and temperature in the presence of an iron catalyst."

I got 8/10 because I misclicked the Bahamas when I was going for Bermuda. Oops. And I guessed North Korea instead of Bhutan. I was going for irony.
