I'm amused that 49% of people thought William McKinley was a surveyor and not, you know, the president

Glad I amused you!

Maybe because some of our fellow players are not American (or so I'd like to think...).

I'm American but nothing to be proud of at the moment.

Well, I’m not American and that’s not an excuse to fail this one!… Why do I tend to complicate so much multiple choice?!… 😂 this definitely is not a good quizz day!…

Washington and Jefferson were both land surveyors. And both have mountains named after them.

That would be me, it was a toss up between that and Everest and I went the wrong way.

Me too. This one got me feeling so dumb but I’m laughing a lot with the comments. I feel I’m not alone 🤣🤣

I'm one of them, but not being from the USA maybe I can be excused. That was the only question I got wrong.

I knew he was president, also thought he could have been a surveyor before that.

9/10 Not too hard if you are a sailor (which I am), have read 'Longitude', good guess on Q9...not on Q10

4/10 knew 1,2 and 4. 6 was an educated guess. I also know the date line is 180 degrees but was trying to go to fast and mixed it up.

McKinley was a 50/50 guess went wrong. Had no idea on the others.

4/10 with you. What I got right, I actually knew. As for the Everest, just don’t ask me why but I went the same direction you did. The rest, definitely not a field in my general culture and not a good day to choose by chance!…😉

8/10. I used to want be a cartographer when I grew up..

Well, now I'm grown up and not a cartographer. Maybe there's still time

Didnt know Everest was a surveyor!

And it was fun to do some simple maths to figure out the latitude question

6/10 Had a stupid mistake with #5, and then after #7 I found those dragons...

7/10 Never gave a question as much thought as #5.

Even got the movie question right this time.

Phew, would've been extremely embarrassing for me to not get 10/10 on a quiz about maps

9/10 for me today, I was so sure that the tropics were defined by latitude that I was convinced it was a mistake, but when I'm wrong, I'm wrong 😂 No trouble with the rest, very surprised to see so many go for McKinley though

Level 72

Yeah, the tropics is specifically defines that the latitudes is less than 23,27! NOT 30!

Still, I guess right, miss the dragons, and I’m 7 points higher than you! That is still so weird!

Ahh yeah that's a fair point, I missed that haha, and well done mate, sounds like you're on a nice run lately!

People think the Taj Mahal is on the Prime Meridian ^^ I could just picture it somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic haha.

(Of course it could be somewhere in Africa or West Europe too, but for whatever reason I pictured it in the ocean)
