9/10 for me today, missed El Greco, who I know almost nothing about. "Haunting" and "distorted" made me think more of someone like Munch, so I aimed for the Northern European name (I also know nothing about Dürer 😅).
For me it was because he's considered the high point of Mannerism, post-Renaissance, so I didn't think it could be him. I only got it because of the distorted hint. Distortion being a characteristic of Mannerism lol.
I picked Durer even though I knew better. Durer was an excellent painter with a big ego. He painted himself as Christ. I was thinking Munch as well. I had no clue.
I knew all* but nr 9, had no idea on that one. Went as fast as I probably could and got 8892 so 9900 is probably not in the stars for me, 9885 would probably be near my max. (theoretically 9930 would be possible but then my eyes got to fall on exactly the right words for all of the questions. I hardly ever get a higher one than 993)
If nr 2 had the options of 11 and 12 I would have had a much tougher time. And for nr 6 I knew all the other ones weren't it and the one remaining made sense and slightly rung a bell, but knowing is a big word. Probably the only one for which I would not have an (correct) answer if it wasn't multiple choice.
Hurray for the easiest daily trivia ever for me--I saw over 950 art exhibits last year. I only slowed down on the El Greco question because he's the embodiment of Mannerism and lived half a century after the high Renaissance. But I've googled it and learned more about the Spanish Renaissance, so I learned something too. Thanks for a great theme!
