Ah dang. The London Underground killed my best time ever by far. I might’ve hit 9920 if Oxbridge were a stop on the tube.

Haha oxbridge is the word meaning Cambridge and Oxford universities.

It so nearly is. Uxbridge is a real station.

Ah yes, I forgot about that.

I was almost tricked there! Luckily, I was in London last month, and I recall there was a stop named "Uxbridge." I assumed it was a trick.

Well question 3 is a bit misleading. The Chunnel is underwater, not underground.

It’s under the ground which is underwater, I believe.

I think they dug an underground tunnel and didn't build it on the seabed.🤔

It's also underground

I sort of agree except that the other answers would also need to go underwater to connect - if Mont Blanc had been a choice I would have gone with that even tho' that's going thru a mountain...is that underground?

Here I was thinking I would be at the top of my leaderboard and you beat me by 26 points.

Hmph.

It was definatley underground the seabead. They used a bunch of Tunnel boring machines

Queen's crumpet, seriously?

8/10 I missed 4 & 7.

I thought that was funny. Also thought that Elephant and Castle sounded only slightly less ridiculous and remembered Flea Bottom from ASoIaF, so picked Oxbridge. Only one I missed, was on track for a fast score, too.

None of those spices come from a root. One of them comes from a rhizome.

If I can’t be a pedant here…

Level 66

true but the other options definitely don't come from roots....a rhizome is underground at least

Wow does Elephant and Castle seem so ridiculous that it can be included with Flea Bottom and Queen's Crumpet? I suppose I'd have agreed before I'd been there haha

Elephant and Castle is the name of a local pub. The myth is that it is the popularisation of the Infanta of Castile, who actually never visited London...

Nice and straightforward for me today, 9,936, kicking myself a bit for not spotting that the Channel Tunnel was an option on question 3 faster though, no new high score for me today 😅

Flea Bottom is from Game of Thrones, that is why it was familiar.

7/10. Spent a bit of time trying to decide between Carlsbad and mammoth and went the wrong way and had no idea on the spice or subway stop.

Surprising 10/10, haven't hit a 99xx in quite awhile...has anyone catched the Netflix 'Kaos' series with Jeff Goldblum? The most hilarious parody of Greek mythology & dysfunctional gods/goddesses......

I did a double-take when I saw your score. That was mighty impressive!

I get a lot of 10/10's but I rarely break 9900 because I'm so slow.

Same here, except I don't get a lot of 10/10, I barely deviate from 8/10. But I sped easily through Q8, had a slight pause on the London Underground, I've travelled enough on the UK rail systems & a lot of the stops are named around whatever pub that exists right off the pop-off. My longtime friend from UK visited me last month, came in from Nice to Seattle. Took him to the popular downtown Pike's Market & we had a beer & a nibble at the 'British' Elephant & Castle pub. That was my 'tell'...and Q10 again, easy (For a year I lived in Little Waltham, Essex in a tiny attic room above the 'White Horse' pub, lovely time)

woohoo 9871! my best score :)

I was slowest on q3 (with 971) because for some reason an underground tunnel between countries seemed fantastical and had to reread the question and my mind wandered, like what? and actual underground tunnel, many many kilometers long?? (reading option a didn't help haha) until I saw option c.... duh of course haha I was thinking of some ancient connection or something, I don't know...
