It's a beautiful day to wake up with the privilege to use your noggin.

easy to you, average score below 6 says not easy to everyone.

Although I did also find them easy.

It’s not that Tongans are gluttons. It’s that their entire traditional diet was rapidly replaced by subsidised and highly processes American Junk food.

Yes. And while there is a real issue, Pacific Islanders tend to have bigger frames, so the BMI (designed based on white men) exaggerates it. That is, PI folks would have to be skinnier than white folks to have a “normal” BMI.

Tonga is an independent country. No one is forcing people to eat KFC... At some point, people need to take responsibility for their own life.

Lack of awareness of deep-seated systemic colonial issues alert!

Yeah, it's not gluttony, it's genetics combined with new unfamiliar food sources.

Nevertheless, I find the impulse to blame Americans a little concerning. It suggests that America is the only country with any agency. And in a way, that makes America look super cool. "We're the only ones that matter, other countries are just our little pawns, wahahaha!" But it's also completely wrong.

Nauru is an equally tragic victim of colonization and resource depletion. During the 19th century, they were passed around the British and German empires; when phosphate was disovered in 1900 the island was raped of the mineral and momentarily enriched the country. The phosphate was exhausted, the land was rendered unfertile, the people were impoverished and could only afford highly processed food. The island now is #1 in type 2 diabetes, +70% obese, life expectancy around mid-40s.

Dang. Somewhere in the recesses of my memory lived the fact that sloths are from South America. That fact was too lazy to help me out.

It blows my mind that more people got that question wrong than the pride and prejudice question, which was a total guess for me. I bet the results would have been different 20 years ago.

Han shot first.

I started out horribly with after the first 4 questions only having 50% correct (2/4) thought I was heading to another 4 or 5. But aced the rest so still a 8/10! A scary one though, I feel confused now haha, that was a weird ride..

Edit; the ones I missed were 3 and 4. # had no idea and for 4 I was just too fast :/ (maybe careless/slightly shaken from getting one wrong so early in the list). I don't think I even read the other options..

@tizzlizz I am taking the quiz (and other ones) outside again and today it is quite sunny, still only 12 degrees but it feels like 16. Oops... suddenly it gets quite dark only see 1 tiny piece of blue everything else is blocked out. Maybe I jinxed it by typing this haha. Might have to head in again (first need to rake some leaves though, maybe the clouds blow over)

Here is my act of pedantry for the day. The quote is technically, "Greed, for lack of a better word, is good." Followed by, "Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit."
