I forgot that today was Dec 1st...I was annoyed thinking "wow we're starting the Christmas theme early this year?". Then I realized, JetPunk is probably the only company actually starting Xmas theming EXACTLY on time.
10/10 - it helps that my sister and I very recently had a conversation about what exactly a manger could be. We had very different ideas. But when I looked it up it all clicked because manger means "to eat" in French.
10/10, last one was pure luck. Well, actually, almost all questions about Christmas carols are lucky guesses (kinda educated guesses, but this is not my culture AT ALL)
In Mexico, the poinsettia is called "flor de nochebuena", or "nochebuena" for short.
It stands for "Christmas Eve (flower)".
It also gives name to a very sought-after seasonal beer. No nochebuenas are actually included in the brewing process, but, just like the eponymous flowers, the beer is only available during Christmas season (and the label has nochebuenas, too).
Well done! I fell down on Q10...I started singing the song, I got into the 2nd verse & still couldn't get a title. I knew it wasn't White Christmas or Winter Wonderland....never heard of The Christmas Song so went with A...
Jeez, it's December already? I recently learned about Sinterklaas, it sounds so much calmer than our over-commercialized, monetized, US version. I'm defecting.
I practically sang the entire song & still couldn't get it. I guess I should have got it just because I knew the other songs. I think Nat King Cole might have made it popular in the 50s or so. edit: googled and yep... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8eWaR8ONvw
The Christmas Song is extremely famous, I think most people just don't know that's the title. I got it by process of elimination but always assumed the song was called "Merry Christmas To You".
"As Tormé relates in his autobiography, “Improbable though it may sound, ‘The Christmas Song’ was completed about 45 minutes later. Excitedly, we called Carlos Gastel [manager of Nat Cole and Peggy Lee], sped into Hollywood, played it for him, then for [lyricist] Johnny Burke, and then for Nat Cole, who fell in love with the tune. It took a full year for him to get into a studio to record it, but his record finally came out in late fall of 1946; and the rest could be called our financial pleasure.” Torme wrote great songs. 9/10. Didn't know the Zwarte Piet one. Funnily enough since it sounded Dutch, I thought Afrikaans and went with South Africa, ignoring the very obvious Netherlands, LOL.
9/10, got a couple of lucky guesses with the sugar plums and poinsettias, but did not know the name of the last one, and would never have guessed in a million years that it was something as mundane as "The Christmas Song" 😅
I hit a perfect 10/10 with my 15th best score of 9,862 points. I paused on Zwarte Piet and figgy pudding Carol all others were instant fun way to start December!
10/10 today. On the topic of poinsettias, I didn't know that they also came in pink and orange. I've seen green and yellow, grow/sell white and 2 shades of red, but saw my first ever pink and orange poinsettias the other day at Walmart.
10/10 today! I'm a bit of a grinch but am trying to lean into the holiday cheer (partly because I'm religious and partly because I've gotta do something to combat my seasonal depression) so this made me extra happy! :)

On the other hand, I just heard about where Poinsettia originated this week, so I'll take the win.
I assume that many Pakistanis speak English but an average man from Karachi would struggle heavily with answering such questions.
I was raised Catholic, but not in English, so carrols and poems are really tough.
Maybe you could count question 4, too, but that is easier to remember than the lyrics of several songs or poems.
7/10 for me
