Minneapolis is too far inland to get the precipitation that Buffalo does. Boston is coastal so its cold weather is tempered by the oceanic effect. Buffalo is right in the sweet spot—a little inland but not so far that precipitation doesn’t reach it, plus it’s downwind of a Great Lake.
Buffalo is wicked cold, wicked windy, 92" annual snowfall. My daughter went to Syracusse University, accelerated her schedule to graduate in 3 years & that included one year at the University of Santiago, Chile. My mother was from upstate NY, left for California when she 20 YO. The autumn is beautiful tho.
Lake effect snow. Minneapolis sits on the west side of a great lake, Buffalo on the east. Downwind (east coast) cities receive more snowfall on average due to lake effect.
Nuts. You'd think any place in Wales would be spelled Warshklgqklkoiningnalizx. Oh well. Chance of snow this afternoon and lots of snow on Jetpunk this morning!
I got question 8 wrong because the song from Frozen in Portuguese is called "Você quer brincar na neve?" ("Do you want to play in the snow?"). That confused me.
9/10 for me today, honestly a pretty difficult one with very few 990+ answers, but it was the final hurdle that got me. Buffalo was my first instinct but then I saw Minneapolis and was torn between the two, before ultimately choosing wrong.

While the snoo lay round about . . .
