Ah, got em all. I wasn’t sure about the last one but I knew some British guy found King Tut, and Howard Carter sure sounds like some British guy’s name.

Nice work. Not many 10s out there today. I was going slow but really had no trouble until Q10. Couldn't decide between Tut and MP. 9/10

I had some lucky guesses there to get a solid 8/10

7/10 got 4, 6 and 8 (could only exclude the author) wrong. Golf balls was an A option guess.

9/10 today, Titleist got me, never heard of them and couldn't narrow it down even a little bit 😂 Needed process of elimination for Piano Man too, but slightly surprised about how few have known polemicist so far

I guess it requires knowledge of at least two relatively rare words, and ideally all of them.

It's also arguably open to interpretation, especially phrased as *might* write rather than *most likely to* write. See eg Blaise Pascal's Provincial Letters for very polemical works which are also essentially homilies, and there have been plenty of polemical eulogies - Jasper Williams on Aretha Franklin, Earl Spencer on Princess Diana etc.

Genau. There's heaps of polemical poetry out there as well.

Agree with DM...I got Q6 but I think it was very open/imprecise. And some people might associate screed as the past tense of leveling wet concrete pads.

I missed polemicist, had to think on 3 or 4, was reasonably happy with a 9/10

I finally got a sports question right--Titleist--because once in high school my friend's dad who golfed told me about them. But I had Piano Man completely memorized, on the piano, years before high school.

*Annoyed sounds*

When I understand the 'ist' words, I don't understand the possible choices 😭

For some reason, I though Caulfield was the antagonist, so used what I thought was the elimination system and got the random pilgrim person (nearly clicked Scout somehow)

Total 70s quiz, except for the obscure Q6...& the drug one, which I missed..and the bible one but that was pretty easy. But Catcher in the Rye, Slaughterhouse-5, Billy Joel, the gimongous King Tut artifact discovery tours (of which I had to forego my very expensive ticket in 1976). Really helped to be a teenager in the 70s on this one!

You're right, but I didn't even notice the shadow theme of 1970s. Now we're getting two themes per quiz!

#10 it was actually Hussein Abdel Rasoul, the water boy who worked on Carter's team, who found what would turn out to be the entrance.
