No. As cool as they are, the entire concept of the big gun battleship is obsolete. There is no longer a line of battle, so no need for a line of battle ship, for wich battleship is short for. Missiles have far greater reach than guns and aircraft are so potent today, so the role for a BB is taken. This is all very sad. :'(
brain farts....I read 'Slumdog Millionaires' & thought 'Reservoir Dogs' slowed me until my brain clicked in...then read battleships & went to destroyers...
Surprised at the low scores or that I knew so many. 7/10. Went the wrong way on chicken pox and picked rubella which is of course German measles. Hesitated on french republic thinking, "is that the number of governments since 1958" but went for 2nd instead, for no real reason. Guessed ca. 100 Battle ships. Plucked pluto from some corner of my brain but knew the rest.
9/10 today, should've gone with my gut on the Kuiper Belt, but can't complain, had a very lucky guess on the battleships, and was only moderately confident about the French Republic. Looks like a generally pretty hard set today
7/10. Don't care about James Bond. Wild wrong guess on the space one, and who knew the US didn't have any battleships? Judging by the 12% correct answer rate, I'll say not many.
8/10., ..slow on Q2 my brain kept connecting 'Slumdog Millionaires' with 'Reservoir Dogs' until it clicked. Annoyed at myself on Q7 as I recently finished listenting the Mike Duncans Revolutions podcast series on the French Revolutions....I knew it was DeGaullee, but put it as the 4th republci. . Q10 I was thinking Destroyer class rather than the historical true battleship class but wouldn't have mattered silll wrong....not overly bad for a Monday
Clever theme today anyway
Guessed wrongly on the battleships question.
