Knew the first three and had lucky guesses on 4 and 9 for a 5/10. I knew I'd heard of inspector Lestrade but couldn't place him.

8/10. Narrowed it down to TN and IL and went the wrong way, and had to just guess on 10 and was wrong, but so were most people.

8/10 today. There's always a few questions I don't have beyond a total guess on, and I can't manage to ever guess them all correctly. The 10/10 remains elusive for me this year. Last year I think I had somewhere around seven 10/10s, maybe this first quarter is being particulary cruel to me and I'll pick up the pace on the other three. Here's hoping. I guess I'll stop typing now and do some work at my job. Or I'll waste the day away on JetPunk, keeping my memory of the countries and capitals of the world fresh in my mind, guessing the all-time NBA stats leaders, guessing the most commonly used words in the English language, guessing the most searched things on Wikipedia, etc etc.

Got 8 out of 10, by not thinking enough. As for Nagasaki, Portugal was one of the earliest European countries to trade with Japan. The only trading port in Japan open to Europeans (only to the Dutch) was in Nagasaki, until Japan opened up to the West in 1854. Asian history is fascinating.
