I don't think I'll remember which blood types do what

It's actually not that complicated! There's only one rule to remember: *your body will reject anything it's never seen before*.

You can think of A, B, and + as different "markers" on the blood cells. (O means neither A nor B is present. "-" means "+" is not present.) If your body sees a marker that it does not recognize, it will reject it.

For instance, that means someone with B cannot accept A. But someone with AB (both A and B markers) can accept A or B because it recognizes them both.

And since O just means "neither A nor B is present", it cannot accept A nor B, it can only accept O.

Same goes for the sign. Anyone with + can accept both + and -. But someone with - cannot accept +.

It's an oversimplification for sure but it works for me to remember. Hope this helps:)

Thanks for the breakdown. I never really questioned the whole "universal" donor/recipient thing before, but this makes a lot of sense.

10/10 thanks to a lucky guess on the F1 team (it seemed like the most reasonable choice)

9/10 guessing wrong on the F1 team. Correct answer would have been my third choice.

6/10 good that Z wasn't an option, as that's what comes next on my keyboard. I knew Bowie was a stage name but thought Swift sounded more likely. Good guess on the horse. No luck on the blood type. Guessed Paris for Curie and Dodge for F1.

69% know Peru's national dish but 38% know how blood types work. Strange. Glad I'm in the second group.

Level 99

i guess that the confusion universal donor vs. recipient mentioned earlier might be a reason, especially when time matters.

it was like that for me, anyway

I knew both, but briefly forgot where Madam Curie was born because I was rushing.

You got 7 of 10 correct.

No idea on F1 or food. Mixed up universal donor and recipient.

The F1 question is tricky because Ford joined as an engine supplier.

Why would David choose a name of an Alamo fighter? Come on..
+3
Level 66
Mar 17, 2026
Because the fighter is better known for something else: popularising the Bowie knife.
+4

Per Wikipedia, he liked the name because a Bowie knife "cut both ways". Moreover, Bowie was 13 when the movie "Alamo" was released, in which Jim Bowie was a main character and his signature knife was prominently featured.

My head was prepared for a St. Patrick's theme. Pleasantly surprised it wasn't. Did catch the 'recipient vs donor' so a comfortable 10/10. (Antonelli won the China F1 on Sunday...his first win & youngest driver ever).

Edit: 2nd youngest driver.🙄

I'm very happy for Kimi and Mercedes. Lawson got a pretty good result too!

8/10 bc I too thought it said "donor," and if you combine cars with sports--my two Achilles heels--I'm doubly sure to miss it. But where o where was St. Patrick???

9/10, and if you've been following my journey in these comments sections you already know it was the F1 question that got me 😂 Other than that, pretty comfortable for me today, though I did have to think for a second about the blood types

6/10. At least I got the blood type question right. But guessed the worst answers with the smallest percentages on others.
