"The Open Championship" should really be called the "British Open," would clear up any ambiguity with the other very prominent and similarly-named US Open
The British sponsors don't consider it confusing to insist that their tournament is The Open. Like most people this side of the Atlantic, I always knew it as "the British Open." But no longer: as the Wikipedia page states: "In 2017, a representative of the R&A openly stated that it is a priority to 'eradicate the term British Open' and have a single identity and brand of 'The Open' in all countries." Eventually we'll all get used to it, just as we no longer use the term "Red China" to refer to mainland China.
Calling it 'The Open Championship' highlights that is THE most prestigious golf achievement of the Grand Slam tournaments, venues move between England, Scotland & Northern Ireland, not just Britain. The Masters is the 2nd most prestigious, always at Augusta, followed by the U.S. Open, & lastly the PGA which moves around various US venues. Yesterday's final round of the Masters was wonderful, won by Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland.
We all got the same four questions wrong. Nice theme though. If it had just been a quiz on the NATO Phonetic Alphabet itself I would've at least gotten 100 on THAT
I just want to point out the last question is in fact incorrect - the last Italian king was Umberto II, reigning for about a month before the establishment of a republic. Victor Emmanuel III abdicated shortly before a referendum on the continuation of the kingdom in a desperate last attempt to save the monarchy's public image, tarnished by his association with Mussolini.
Jose de San Martin was born nearly 200 years after Lima was founded by Pizzaro & claimed by the Spaniards. San Martin was a military liberator for Chile, Argentina & Peru from Spanish rule.
It's the NATO alphabet! Very tough one to recognize.
"J" is "Juliet" and "R" is "Romeo." "Z" is "Zulu." "G" is "golf." "P" is "Papa." "C" is "Charlie." Question number 6 just directly asks which word is used for "F." "H" is "hotel." "X" is "x-ray." "L" is "Lima," and "V" is "Victor." I had to spent a minute reviewing the questions after finishing to spot it myself.
I would love to have a titanic themed daily trivia tomorrow. The anniversary of when the titanic hit the iceberg. Or the day abraham lincoln got shot I suppose
Those damn Gideons.

No questions about my buddy Mike, sadly.
