1. You can't spell the answer properly
2. It is easier to misspell it for time
3. You like misspelling it for fun

For me, I always deliberately forget the 'h' in Kazakhstan because it is easier for time and I just have gotten used to spelling it that way.
kirgistan ; kazakstan ; napidaw ; misisipi.
It's ugly, but very useful when it comes to saving some precious time on certain quizzes.
I do use the many abbreviations though, KSA, DPRK, DRC, etc.
The one I always spell right though is probably the hardest, Kyrgyzstan. It's the one good thing about my time on Orcspel before I discovered JetPunk. They make you spell it out properly on their quizzes, plus you have to type Bosnia and Herzogovina in full on their COTW quiz.
