Best burger restaurant near you?

Submitted by In2restingFacts on October 26, 2025
Americans, in your opinion, what’s the best burger place around where you live?

Back in Texas, I enjoyed Whataburger quite a bit (although eventually I came to enjoy the chicken boxes a lot more than the burgers.) Here in Utah, the food scene is generally pretty bleak, but we have some good burger joints around. My favorite is a place called Astro Burger. The burgers are tasty, the fries and soda are superb, and the staff is always excellent whenever I go there. Only drawback is that it is a bit pricey for fast food but it’s a good once-every-two-weeks kinda meal.

I'm split between Culver's or Five Guys; both have amazing burgers. Culver's particularly has one of the best cod sandwiches I've ever had.

Portillo's has some good burgers, also BJ's and Saltgrass.

As for fast food you can never go wrong with McDonalds

i'll get an in-n-out burger every once and a while because they're open past 11 (when i get off work) and they're cheap as balls but the fries are the worst thing there

Red Robin is good. The original Red Robin was near my house but it closed down in 2010.

The local burger chain here is called Dick's. Everyone pretends its good, but its not.

yknow i’ve never really associated INO with California. it just seems like more of an American Southwest thing to me, maybe just because of their prevalence throughout the region. plus didn’t they move their headquarters to Arizona?

Their headquarters are still in Irvine, it's just the owner moved to Tennessee

Moxie Burger is the greatest burger restaurant I have ever eaten at. The only bad thing about it is their sweet potato fries but their regular fries are delicious. After school on fridays, most of the kids go to Krog street market on the beltline, they usually get shake shack. I hate shake shack, it is overrated and not that good they get glazed way too much and a burger, fries and a shake is like 20 dollars. Once my football team went to Krog to get all of the kids who were skipping practice and most of the kids in my grade were at shake shack.

Edit: most of you probably don't know what the beltline is

In New Zealand, our best burgers are easily those at BurgerFuel. They far outdo anything at McDonalds, Burger King, or any of the bigger chains in terms of flavour and freshness (and price, they're a bit more expensive)

BurgerFuel is the most american-sounding name for a foreign restaurant i’ve ever heard. hell, it combines cheeseburgers and gasoline into one thing. find a way to throw guns in there and it would sound like an Onion article written by a european

New Zealand has great quality fresh produce.. so the food, including burgers, has great ingredients but not much flavour. Their ice creams too..

An Indian chain called Good Flippin’ Burgers has really good burgers.

As far as fast food goes, Freddy’s is definitely my favorite. I don’t remember the name of the restaurant but the best burger I’ve ever had was a bison burger in downtown Jackson, Wyoming.

If you’re talking any restaurant I would probably say an average diner burger, (especially In Lancaster where I vacation to sometimes). If you are talking fast food, probably A&W.
