Blog help

Hi everyone, as you may or may not know I have been writing blogs about the origin of many cities over the last couple of years or so. I did all 196 national capitals, 196 second cities, and, at the time of writing, 3/4 of the 50 state capitals of the US. (I must be mad). I am currently working on the final blog in the series, and also a blog on other capitals to be released after the state capitals. These are not what I need help on!

I am starting to research the origins of certain foods and where they get their names. I have started with Hot Dogs, but I'm not sure which foods to write about. Here's where you come in. I need you to suggest some foods that have specific names rather than just generic terms. For example, Jambalaya, Rubens Sandwich (Have I even spelled that right?) or Haggis. I may or may not be using those three depending how the research evolves.

The blog will probably be finished in a few months time, but I will make a note of all suggestions and credit you with the suggestion.

the reason for this request is that there are some foods that are well known only in a specific area or country and that I have never heard of. I just saves me time trawling through websites and Wikipedia looking for something I don't know exists.
