Help on a clue!

Submitted by jack541 on September 27, 2024
Hey, one of my quizzes within one of my most popular series has been spotlighted! So I wanna improve on the J answer, as well as putting it out there I have nothing for X, the only criteria is that they have to be somehow geographically relevant, however that can be anything at all!

They just have to start with J, (or any of the other letters if you have any suggestions for any of the other clues) Or X has I have nothing for it and end in S.

Thanks a lot! I could probably do this with any of the other quizzes in this series, it took a lot of searching around to find things that fit!

The quiz for reference

Xerxes comes to mind for X, but that's hard to relate to modern geography. Maybe Jodhpurs for J? The city of Jos?

I've asked AI, there's his (its, her?) answer - "Xeres" is an old name for the Spanish city Jerez de la Frontera, known for its sherry wine and flamenco music. Although the modern name is Jerez, "Xeres" was used in the past and fits the requirement of starting with "X" and ending with "S". We also need to verify if it's even true!

Yes, it's true! I don't think if people would know that, but it's never been said that it was gonna be easy.

For J you could use the Jordan river, its latin name is Jordanus. This name is often used in historical or geographical texts
