I just took a 16 mile walk, and realized that it was rather long. So, I thought I might ask you all what the longest walks you've ever been on were. If you have taken some kind of long backpacking trip or such, I wanna know what the most distance covered in one day was.
(Now that I'm thinking, I've realized that most JetPunkers probably spend so much time inside they've forgotten what a walk is)
It was long but completely worth it as barely any taxis were running
My furthest run is 15 miles, and I'm hoping I can finally be healthy enough to get in a good training block to run a marathon next year.
My longest day was about 30 miles - can't remember exactly, but we hiked from the Glen Nevis area to a point just north of Bridge of Orchy. Up and down hills and carrying tents and supplies as well - no wonder my body was in a bad state by the end of it.
A colleague of mine runs ultra marathons, his last one was 106 miles in 25 hours. Makes me tired just thinking about it!
I think a more memorable (and recent) experience was when I was going for a walk in my city, got lost, and spent what felt like half the day trying to figure out how to get home. Now THAT was a workout.
