I'm usually not a particularly emotional person, but off the top of my head, there's a couple songs that have made me at least tear up independently of feeling any sort of particular emotion before (ie putting the song on specifically because I was sad) -
King Park by La Dispute
Something in the Orange, God Speed, Pink Skies, Leaving by Zach Bryan
Letters from Home by John Michael Montgomery
Taxi Cab by Twenty One Pilots
Dress Blues by Jason Isbell
Rattlesnake by Jack Van Cleaf
American Teenager by Ethel Cain
For movies, I think the only one that's ever done it is Brokeback Mountain.
curious to see if anyone else has had similar experiences
as for songs, they dont make me cry
-Grave of the Fireflies (so beautiful, but so hard I can't watch if anymore)
-Million Dollar Baby
-Brokeback Mountain
-The Iron Giant
-The Lion King (No Scar, don't do that!)
Nothing really surprising in the end.
Also shed a few tears on the TV Show This is Us.
But I can't really find any songs that made me cry.
Difference Maker by NEEDTOBREATHE
Red Dead Redemption 2
Schindler's List
The final episode of Blackadder Goes Forth is a normal sitcom set in WW1 for most of the episode, it is just the final minute that does it for me.
Songs don't really make me cry but there are a couple of Brandon Lake songs that almost make cry.
And then of course there's movies/shows that make me laugh so hard that I end up crying. The only ones off the top of my head that have done that is Billy Madison. I know there's others I just can't remember at the moment.
