Should I change the way that JetPunk's points and levels system works?
What if, instead of the current system we did this:
1) Every quiz had a fixed scoring scale. It wouldn't be based on percentiles, it'd be based on my guess for how points "should" be allotted.
2) Points can never go down. When we reset a quiz, any points you have earned will persist.
Let me know what you think! What downsides can you think of?
Would be okay with your guesswork too.. since that would entail no resets as well.
As for resets, I'm thinking there should be a threshold for when you need to retake the quiz. Maybe if something like 10% of answers change? Of course there should also be special exemptions, like if there's a new country or those award quizzes that only get updated every five years.
Points never going down is wonderful! But one thing to note is how to let people know of new changes - citypopulation.de recently added Luanda as a megacity - without the points resetting, I'd never have known and wouldn't do well on a similarly updated megacity quiz.
Still, it's very hypothetical
