He's made some pretty good ones. But I'll have to go with Inception (to be fair to me I haven't seen The Dark Knight trilogy or Oppenheimer so don't get mad at me for not picking one of those).
I feel like his movies are becoming very clinical and long-winded. Like I don't think Oppenheimer is bad, but I think it's way too long, doesn't focus enough on the science, barely has any emotion, and the nuclear explosion doesn't even look at all like a nuclear explosion, even though it's what the first 2/3rds of the movie builds up to.
I still respect him for having more of a style and voice than most directors, but that doesn't mean everything he touches is gold. Fingers crossed for The Odyssey.
i like inception and dunkirk because they demonstrated how Nolan likes to use practical effects as much as he can. the rotating hallway fight in Inception uses an actual hallway they built to rotate sideways, and all the boats in Dunkirk were real and it was filmed in the channel and on the beach
What is everybody's thoughts on The Odyssey btw?
1. The Dark Knight
2. Interstellar
3. Batman Begins
4. The Prestige
5. Inception
6. The Dark Knight Rises
7. Memento
8. Dunkirk
9. Oppenheimer
10. Tenet
(I haven't seen The Following or Insomnia)
