What’s your local gas price at?

Submitted by TwelvePointFont on March 22, 2026
Just filled up my truck for the first time in a few weeks. Last time I filled it up it was around $3/gal for the premium gas, and I filled up my whole tank for about $34. This time the premium at my local gas station was $4.25/gal, so I filled up with the mid-range at $4.07/gal. Luckily we had a .90¢/gal discount from our grocery store fuel points (meaning we spent almost $900 in groceries over the course of March), so my total to fill up the tank was only $36. Hopefully we have more fuel points next time I fill up the truck. I’ve got 510 miles left until it’s empty. I’m considering filling up some cans with extra gas between now and then if the price really starts flying up.

As of the time you respond to this post, what’s the general price of gas at stations in your area?

Just comment on the gas prices. Don’t make any political commentary.

$3.50 in Charleston. It will be going down though.

I'm glad it's gotten down to $2.00 here, so I have no doubt it will eventually decrease again over time.

1.73 per litre, which is pretty good because I can drive about 500 km on a tank and get 7 L per 100 km, eh?

In other words, "6.55 per gallon, which is pretty good because I can drive about 310 mi on a tank and get 1.85 gallons per 62 mi"

*estimates are rounded to the nearest decimal place*

Ah, but did you take our weak CAD into account? Also, you should’ve converted to miles per gallon since that’s the conversion Americans are used to!

Around $4.76 USD/US Gallon.

You can drive around 310.686 miles on a tank and get about 1.8 Gallons per 62.14 miles. This equals to around 34.52 miles per gallon.

Dimby, what car do you drive!?

My truck averages close to 35 MPG. I can usually get between 520-570 miles out of a full tank.

Hybrids are where it’s at. I’ve been driving all day today and my tank has gone from 511 miles left (when I filled it up yesterday) down to 505, then back up to 514, then slowly back down to 499 over the course of like an hour. Plus I was hauling a bunch of stuff to the dump. Regenerative braking is freaking awesome.

Rs. 321/ litre (which roughly translates to 1.15 dollar) Expensive? People are very angry on this hike here of 18 cents.

If I could get gas for $1.15 again I would be filling up a whole drum and there’d be a line of cars behind me waiting to do the same thing

₹ 104/litre. ( a US dollar is ₹ 94 for reference.)

So about 4 US dollars a gallon.

Petrol fuel prices have always been high in India, with the govt. pocketing the difference. They haven’t increased so far, but are expected to go up after some state elections in May.

California has always sucked when it comes to gas prices.

I believe California’s always been on a separate oil pipeline system from the rest of the country, which is part of the reason gas is more expensive there.

Gasoline. In the states we use gas as it is short for gasoline, which is another word for petroleum which is shortened to petrol. Although running on Natural Gas sounds more environmental friendly...
