For N, I thought it was Non-24 Sleep/Wake Disorder at first, which I have, but rarely see mentioned anywhere so I was surprised. Narcolepsy I thought was the tendency to fall asleep suddenly and without warning. My aunt was narcoleptic for a while and would fall asleep on the toilet or sometimes in the middle of a sentence.
That one also took me a few extra seconds, but I looked it up and that's the definition given by the NIH. We discovered my late brother had it when he fell asleep while driving. Not a good time to discover it but thankfully his wife was in the car with him and was able to get control of the car enough to get it off the highway before they crashed.
Only cattle can get mad cow disease the human version of it you can get from eating the nervous tissue of infected cattle, it is called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD).
XYY syndrome, unlike Klinefelters XXY or Turner syndrome XO, is basically asymptomatic and unscreened. No one learns about it in medical school and is probably quickly skimmed over even in genetic counseling school. I would switch off this answer for something more common. I suggest Xerostomia = dry mouth. A technical term for a pretty common symptom that is seen in several rheumatologic diseases.
Is Kawasaki not a lymph node disease? Another disease named for a Japanese doctor that is one type of vasculitis (blood vessel inflammation) is Takayasu's artiritis.
Kawasaki is also a type of vasculitis. The difference between Takayasu and Kawasaki is that the former affects large vessels like the aorta and the latter medium to small vessels like the coronary arteries. There are tons of vasculitides and believe me when I say memorizing them is any med student's worst nightmare :)
It's fun seeing how much med school teaches you. Last time I was on here it looks like I hadn't even started college and I got a 20. Had never even heard of things like Kawasaki. Now, it was a pretty easy 26 for me :) I'd definitely love to see more medical quizzes on this site!
