Haha... I also guessed "family tree" for "history of breeding." Though I knew it was probably wrong since, even though not specified here, usually these tests have single word answers.

I first thought genealogee but then thought no, that is not the right english spelling

I tried genealogee and husbandree even though I knew they were wrong. Never thought of the right answer.

Got them all, but possibly the description for "divorcée" should be "A woman who is no longer married", since the masculine form of the word is "divorcé".

Should be "woman whose marriage has been dissolved". Women who are no longer married also include widows!

Sure, but Widow obviously doesn't fit with the theme of the quiz. You could say alternate non-fitting answers for some of the others too

Good quiz. Had to think on some of them, but still finished with 1:56 left. (Always a good quiz when I get 'em all.)

I tried "evacuee" but it didn't work for refugee.

I too put family tree even though I was fairly certain it was wrong. Never did come up w/ pedigree. Regarding the talk about parolee, that's the first thing I came up with. Just seemed like the right fit.

couldn't evacuee also apply to one who flees his country to escape war, persecution or a natural disaster

For someone fleeing their country due to war, I was going to try SOL, but it didn't end in ee. 😉

Statue of Liberty??? (Perhaps "libertee"?)

Evacuee should be every bit as acceptable as refugee. Especially with natural disaster part of the clue. If you aren't going to take it, then remove natural disaster and/or mention that it's for an extended period or something about a legal status.

So you’re just entirely ignoring the flees the country because of war part?

"Matinee" for an afternoon performance is almost as stupid as americans using "Entree" for a main course. Just use a separate word

The standard spelling is either “tipi” or “tepee”, not “teepee”. At the very least “tepee” should be accepted.

I don’t think divorcee, matinee or soiree are in the spirit of this quiz. They should really be spelt with the acute accent on the first e, to indicate that the pronunciation follows the original French form.

Unless they are pronounced that way in The States?

Irrelevant. Tipis were a common dwelling type over about half the North American continent. The classic image most people conjure was mostly a great plains style, covered in buffalo (bison) hides.

It's only apogee if the thing being orbited is the Earth (gee, as in geo). The furthest orbital point for an object orbiting the sun, for example, is aphelion. The general term is apsis
