I'm not sure in what sense 'freemason' is a 'historical' term. Freemasonry is current today and, so far as I know, isn't associated with any particular era. If anyone knows different, I will be happy to learn.

an omen is not necessarily a sign from the heavens, it is any warning of impending doom

All warnings of impending doom have their cause in the heavens. Please consult Herodotus, Plato, Plutarch, Plotinus, Proclus and Posidonius

FORENAMES is also a 9 letter word and an anagram or freemason.

It's about as 'historic' a term as freemason.

Appropriately, I feel swindled.

fun fact: Nero didn't fiddle while Rome burned! He wasn't in Rome at the time the fire started, and returned to organise relief efforts.

Also, fiddles hadn't been invented yet!
