Every time someone says the capital of the UK is London I die inside. UK doesn't have a Capital. London is England and England only. Am I overthinking things?
London is absolutely the capital of the UK. It is where the government is located and it rules the entire United Kingdom. There is no government only for England, as there is for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland so one could argue that England doesn't have a capital.
I mean, I guess you could argue that the City of Westminster is the actual Capital, but in reality it has long since been swallowed by London and has been an official borough since the 60's despite also retaining city status. But you can't even argue that if part of your argument is that London is the Capital of England but not the UK.
