Thanks! I am a little worried the concept might be too advanced. We'll see.

The concept is fine, seems pretty basic to me, can't see how on earth this would be advanced haha. However it is a big invitation to discussions of course.

But well, no quiz seems to be complete without them so...it seems to be impossible to avoid, might as well have the door wide open :D

Don’t think Passover + Feast = Seder is correct as Seder refers to a Shabbat meal.

In Judaism we call the night of passover (when we feast) "Leil Ha-seder".

Seder in Judaism is basically ritual, as in "what we have to do/say in order to do it correctly or effectively".

P.S. although English is not my first language, it is not the reason why I may sound like a dunce.

My mind went the wrong way with crawl + snake. I was thinking of snake-like animals that crawl on legs like lizards, alligators, etc.

mine initially as well but when none of the crawling snake like creatures were accepted I figured I would try a different angle

The long spear got me - I tried javelin, harpoon, lance...

Me too, mine were halberd, lance, javelin.

Yeah. I tried javelin, lance, polearm... didn't love that one.

None of those things are longer than a normal spear.

A lance is, though

I feel like crawl+snake could be skink, it's basically just a snake with legs

The third column was the most difficult for me. I only missed one from the first two columns, and only got one from the third column.

Tsar derives from Caesar and is closer in meaning to Emperor than King.

I agree. "Russia + emperor" would be more accurate.

I could not figure out why treachery wasn't accepted. And now that I've seen the answer... I cannot figure out why treachery wasn't accepted.

Any sort of malicious deceptiveness is treachery. The act of betraying one's country is treason. This quiz requires precision, or else every answer could just be "thing" or "place" or "concept".

long spear: javelin, harpoon, atl atl, etc. This one was much more vague than any of the others, IMO.

There are many for spear + long. Javelin, lance, polearm, halberd etc

About half of the stuff was quite easy, but for the other half I often guessed the correct answer but could not remember the English word - sometimes I'd never even heard of it before. Usually, it's a much smaller percentage. I'm guessing that this is caused by the wide range of concepts used as well as the need for highly specialized words so as to avoid ambiguous hints/answers

The correct name for a brandy glass is a balloon.

'Snifter' in the UK and outside the US is just a term for any quick, small drink. Balloon glass is the normal term.

Great quiz but I think it would also be more interesting if certain ones like Slug+Shell could both be the answer you put(no spoilers) and shotgun because they both have double meanings.

Really liked the concept. Kinda felt like some of the element games where you combine items to make new ones. I would suggest that lance be added as an acceptable answer to long spear. The other suggestions are not quite right. Either they are not any longer than a traditional spear or they are no longer just thrusting and piercing weapons, but crushing or slashing weapons as well.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I thought 'longspear' would work for spear + long.
