St Martin yes but St Maarten no. Sint should be spelled out in Dutch as St is not an abbreviation

I would add the BIOT to this list. Yes, technically it has no permanent inhabitants, but people are definitely living at the military base on Diego Garcia, and if they ever decide to all leave, the displaced peoples will return and reestablish permanent settlements, so in effect it will remain "temporarily" inhabited non-stop until the situation there changes.

I assume omitting the Islands-less type-in for 🇰🇾 was accidental? 🤷‍♂️

I don't know what you are talking about. I am confused.

For all the others on this list with Island(s) in the name, you only need to type in the beginning for it to be accepted e.g., Falkland is accepted as a type-in for Falkland Islands, whereas with the Cayman Islands 🇰🇾 you must type Islands as well for it to be accepted. Presumably that is unintentional?

Oh, ok. That was unintenional. I fixed it.

Simply that Cayman Islands required the “Islands” to be typed as well, even though all the other such places worked without them. (I was using the emoji flag to cover the name for anyone using the comments to cheat!)

All fixed now, though.

Can you please accept "Dhekelia" for "Akrotiri and Dhekelia"? And can you add "Miquelon" and "St. Pierre" as a type in for "St. Pierre and Miquelon"? Thanks!

Or at least accept "Saint Pierre et Miquelon" in French. I was so confused at first when it didn't work

This is correct about Western Sahara, but I’m not sure your examples are. Mayotte is certainly disputed (by Comoros), French Guiana and Reunion are a bit different. Madagascar disputes the sovereignty of the Glorioso islands which are administered from Reunion, but not Reunion itself. There is a border dispute with Suriname over a small triangle in the south which is being mediated, but no one is disputing the the sovereignty of France over the whole of French Guiana.

In any case, they’re all overseas departments of France, which is unique insofar as it classifies it’s overseas territories as being equal and equivalent to it’s metropolitan departments, not as dependencies.

First of all, @richiesyyx already mentioned the deal about French Guiana in the chat, and also the Shetland islands are a part of the UK (Scotland), not a territory. Also, the Orkney islands are a part of the British antarctic territory which is in my quiz.

er no, the Orkney islands and the Shetland islands are part of Scotland/UK, the South Shetland islands are a British Dependant Territory along with South Georgia and are NOT part of BAT. Given the permanent population on South Georgia - very low, yes! - I was surprised to see it was not included... but then you would have to include BIOT and French Southern and Antarctic Lands too, so overall I think you took the right decision

French Guinea - no such place; Shetland and Orkney islands are both counties of Scotland and therefore part of the UK
