A New Hope
The Force Awakens
A young Force-sensitive teenager named
Luke Skywalker,
Rey,
having grown up poor on the desert planet
Tatooine,
Jakku,
finds themselves pulled into the ongoing conflict between the tyrannical
Empire
First Order
and the heroic group of freedom fighters, the
Rebel Alliance.
Resistance.
The teenager finds themselves in the company of a droid named
R2-D2,
BB-8,
who is carrying an important
message
map
that will help the
Rebel Alliance
Resistance
recruit Jedi Master
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Luke Skywalker
to their cause after his self-imposed exile many years prior. However, also hunting the Jedi Master is
Darth Vader,
Kylo Ren,
former apprentice of
Obi-Wan,
Luke,
who had turned to the dark side after becoming disillusioned with the Jedi.
Darth Vader
Kylo Ren
is now the apprentice of
Palpatine,
Snoke,
the dictatorial ruler of the
Empire
First Order
and overseer of the construction of the planet-killing superweapon, the
Death Star.
Starkiller Base.
Our hero first travels to
Mos Eisley
Takodana
but after a short stop at a canteen there, they learn that the
Empire
First Order
has used their superweapon to destroy the planet
Alderaan
Hosnian Prime,
at the order of the weapon's commander,
Grand Moff Tarkin.
General Hux.
This severely cripples the support network of the
Rebel Alliance
Resistance
and leads to the group turning its full attention to destroying the weapon, now having finally convinced smuggler
Han Solo
Han Solo
to join the cause for good. Following a successful rescue of one member, the group of heroes reunites aboard the
Death Star
Starkiller Base
and while
Luke
Rey
infiltrates deeper into the weapon base,
Obi-Wan
Han Solo
aims to atone for past mistakes by locating
Darth Vader
Kylo Ren
but is ultimately killed by them. While this devastates
Luke,
Rey,
who had come to see
Obi-Wan
Han
as a trusted mentor, the distraction of
Kylo
Vader
allows the
Rebel Alliance
Resistance
to carry out their attack on the
Death Star,
Starkiller Base,
successfully destroying it through attacking a weak point. Having now fully realised their potential with the Force, this marks the beginning of the journey to become a Jedi for
Luke.
Rey.
