Category 5 North Indian Ocean Cyclones by satellite image

North Indian ocean cyclones are cyclones in the Indian Ocean north of the Equator. The IMD has their own scale for tropical cyclones, but the SSHWS is used here with data from the JTWC. Images of the storms are of peak intensity, or near it at category 5 status. There are 9 storms on this list since reliable records. Updated September 2025.
Cyclones formed in the basin (Excluding cross-overs) before 2004 lack an official name. They are unofficialy named after the regions they affected. Answering their alphanumerical designation in the BT data from the JTWC or IMD will also count.
